As the nation marks the 128th anniversary of Philippine Independence, SM Supermalls—together with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)—reaffirms its commitment to empowering Filipinos by making quality employment more accessible. This year, the partnership presents back-to-back job fairs across Northern Metro Manila, creating pathways to livelihood and progress.
First up is the Kalayaan Job Fair at SM City Valenzuela on June 11, followed by the Independence Day Job Fair at SM Center Sangandaan on June 12. These events unite job seekers, employers, and government agencies in a shared goal: to boost employment and drive local economic growth.
The two-day initiative is part of SM and DOLE’s nationwide Araw ng Kalayaan Job Fair program—one of the country’s largest coordinated hiring drives, held annually in celebration of Philippine freedom.
At SM City Valenzuela on June 11, attendees can meet with a diverse roster of local and overseas employers offering roles across a wide range of industries. The event welcomes fresh graduates, graduating students, first-time applicants, career shifters, and seasoned professionals seeking new opportunities.
The momentum continues on June 12 at SM Center Sangandaan, where the job fair coincides with the national observance of Independence Day. The activity highlights that freedom means more than a historic milestone—it also represents the chance for every Filipino to secure meaningful work and build a better future for their loved ones.
Beyond job matching, both events serve as full-service employment hubs. Attendees can access on-site assistance from government agencies including the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Social Security System (SSS), PhilHealth, Pag‑IBIG Fund, DOLE, and the Public Employment Service Office (PESO). These services simplify and speed up the processing of employment requirements.
Job seekers may also explore upskilling and training opportunities through partnerships with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), JobStreet, and various industry leaders.
The longstanding partnership between SM and DOLE has already made a significant impact nationwide. During the Labor Day Job Fairs on May 1, over 17,000 job seekers participated across 15 SM malls, resulting in more than 1,000 immediate hires. From January to May 2026 alone, the collaboration has organized 66 job fairs nationwide, serving over 57,000 individuals and securing more than 6,000 on‑the‑spot placements.
Applicants are advised to bring multiple copies of their resume, valid IDs, a ballpoint pen, and other relevant documents. Participating companies will conduct on‑the‑spot interviews, with many offering immediate employment offers.
