Healthy eating means eating a variety of food that gives you the nutrients you need to maintain your health, feel good, and have energy. These nutrients include protein, carbohydrates, fat, water, vitamins, and minerals.

Live your best by boosting not only your physical health, but also your mental. It’s about time to eat healthy. live healthy. and take control of your health. What you eat can affect your immune system, your mood, and your energy level. And one of the easiest ways to start your journey to living a healthy life is by eating a plantbased diet.

On top of that, they will also be handing out vouchers and amazing deals on club memberships.

The fitness industry is truly tight and competitive. Fitness Revolution will also be the host of major activities such as Archery Attack, indoor obstacle course, and workshops on striking protocol, poi, pole and aerial arts.

“Entrance fee is P200 only. You will get a lot out of your money at Fitness Revolution granting that a per session walk-in rate on gyms would usually cost around P500 to P700. Aside from achieving your health goals in one weekend, you also get to shop for loved ones there if you’re looking to avoid the holiday rush,” added Zamora.

Jeunesse Anion's Practical Fitness Hacks for Moms

While receiving gifts and arranging something special on Mother’s Day is lovely, there’s nothing like a fit and fabulous body as a mission to ensure you’re able to wear the many hats you juggle everyday.  Whether you’re a new mom or firmly decided about being more active and healthy for yourself and your family, here are some practical tips that you can take heart to get you motivated and whip back into shape—right in the comfort of your own home especially when you’re on a period.

According to Dr. Ian, a dedicated multi-sport, endurance and CrossFit athlete, you can do exercises that will loosen up the cramps and dysmenorrhea. “Make sure to go slowly and choose workouts that you can sustain and safe for you. Mind your changing time every after four hours to prevent leaks and to keep yourself odor and bacteria-free. With Jeunesse Anion Sanitary Napkin, you’re armed with triple dose of comfort and protection since it’s liniment-free, uses non-toxic glue, thin but highly absorbent to keep your form on point. Apart from these, if you’re a mom who just gave birth, rest assured that the materials and process in developing Jeunesse Anion are totally safe and secure for you.

So here are few things to do and be your best:

1.     Don’t procrastinate.

Working out is hard and finding the motivation is harder. No matter how “blah” you feel, just put on your workout clothes and consider it as your sleep wear so you don’t have an excuse to work out as soon as you wake up. Guaranteed, after you look the part, you’ll feel the need and will have a greater excitement about it.

 2. The internet is your best friend.

YouTube offers easy to follow to the most intense home exercises that will encourage movement and consistency without breaking the bank. Remember when navigating for a tutorial, choose to do workouts with equipment you already have at home such as dumbbells, jumping rope and a mat.

3.     Free fitness apps are a-plenty.

From tracking down how many calories you consume and how many calories you burn to making sure you have a workout schedule to follow, fitness apps are great to have because it’s all there, right in the palm of your hands. What’s even better is they’re fee! Check out RunKeeper, Daily Yoga, StrongLifts 5x5, Nike + Training Club, Sworkit Lite Personal Workout, 7-Minute Workout, and Zombies Run!

4.     Incorporate your family into your workout.

No dumbbells, no problem. Toddlers and babies make great substitutes for “weights” turning your workouts into a full-blown family affair and a great way to introduce fitness and a chance to have fun with exercise. When working out with your teens and husband, consider planking, squats, push-ups, crunches, side leg raises, burpees, mountain climber, and butterfly kicks as your basic exercise variations to regularly confuse your muscles and gain strength. Triathlete Ian Banzon, MD also suggests to do variety of exercises every two weeks.

5.     Mind your diet.

Bear in mind that getting fit is not just about working out, 70% depends on a good diet. Philippine and US registered dietitian-nutritionist Cheshire Que, RND, RN, RDN, food and fluid are essential elements for the success of your workout. “An hour or two before exercise, eat a light snack that has a combination of carbohydrates for energy and some protein for muscle growth and repair. After the session, no need to eat with guilt as refueling within 15 minutes after exercise is essential to replace fluid loss. However, it’s not an excuse to binge and aim to consume what’s only in your total caloric allowance for the day. Otherwise, you’ll gain weight and your exercise will be futile”, she adds.

There’s nothing like the month of moms that will ignite our commitment to wellness. As primary nurturers of the family, don’t miss on goals and activities that will add value to your calling. Because for us, a healthy and whole light of our homes mean a happy and vibrant family!

BDJRendezvous : A Woman Who Matters

What is your definition of a woman who matters? What for you is an empowered woman?

Yesterday, August 8,  marked the last Belle De Jour Rendezvous for this year with the theme : A Woman Who Matters ! Luckily, I was able to receive an invite from BDJ Team for this event. T'was my first time to attend BDJ's event , I must admit, I enjoyed and learned a lot. From now on I will do anything and everything to join if not all, most of their events because yesterday's event helped me to feel more blessed, informed and empowered. That's why I'm going to share my learnings with you.

We Bellas were fortunate to meet and listen to 3 empowered women: Nikki Duque, Thea de Rivera and Melissa Gohing.

Nikki Duque : Put your Best Face Forward
Professional free lance and celebrity makeup artist. She is also a beauty blogger

Struggling to achieve that corporate chic make-up look? Nikki taught us her tips and tricks to look polished and professional at work. First, she told us the do's and dont's in achieving the corporate chic look.
   Don't :
- do fake lashes in the office
- fixate on embellishing up to your eyebrows
- fake-bake or test-drive any complexion-changing beauty products on weekdays
- do the frosted or glittery lip thing (pls!)

Studies have shown that women who wear make-up to work are more likely to get promoted.

Here are the GROUND RULES in choosing make up products:
- it has to stand the test of time
- it has to be low maintenance and easy for you to be able to complete in a rush
- it should enhance and not hide who you are
- it shouldn't be distracting
- it should make us feel comfortable and amazing!

1. Foundation - Use a good primer. As we all know primer serves as a base for foundation and face makeup that allows it to go on smoother and last longer. She gave her best picks for primers and foundations : Benefit pore fessional, L'oreal 's True match, Maybelline and Clean and clear oil control films
2. Eyebrows and Eyelashes - avoid strong harsh-looking eyebrows. Her trusted products : K-palette and Maybelline's mascara.
3. Eyeshadows and eye liners - brings out eye color and enhance eye shape - she prefers Urban decay Naked palette. Because it has long, lean and seductive case packed with 12 neutrals that works for everyone.

Tips from Nikki:
1. Preparation is always important.
2. Have an emergency makeup kit in your office drawers.
3. Change your make up game once in a while

Thea de Rivera : Finding Your Passion, Making your Mark
Restauranteur, Owner and the creative mind behind The Girl and The Bull and 12/10

Thea of The Girl and The Bull , a restauranteur with a cool hair color (teal/ green!) I like!!!

TIPS:
- Always give 100% hardwork in what you do
- Don't lose yourself in the process of success
- Represent yourself

HOW WAS IT LIKE TO WORK WITH YOUR SIGNIFICANT OTHER?
- You have to lay down your priorities and goals
- Make sure both are of the same page
- Always understand each other
- Maintain healthy relationship
- Always have a mindset of a beginner. There is always something to improve on.
- Always say THANK YOU. (Acknowledge every little thing, Be humble, grounded and GRATEFUL)

WORK - LIFE BALANCE -My work is my life, my life is my work
 - In Achieving 100%, give 100%

As long as you are living, there's life. PASSION is something you stumble upon on, and make the most out of it. - Thea de Rivera

Melissa Gohing : Guide to your Fitness Transgormation
DLSU Lady Spiker - Professional Athlete - Lifestyle blogger

Melissa shared her fitness journey and inspired us to start ours, now! Even on rainy season.

Why fitness is important in our lives? If we don't exercise, there's a possibility that we will have a cognitive problem in the future.

Why exercise is important?
- weight loss
- healthier brain
- osteoporosis prevention
- makes you less stressed
- strength
- decreased health risk
- better skin health
- and last but not the least it makes us happy! :)

When we exercise, our body releases these feel good neurotransmitters called endorphins. The increase in endorphins in our body leads to a feeling of euphoria, modulation of appetite, the release of different sex hormones, and an enhancement of immune response which combats the negative effect of stress.

NO EXCUSES EVEN ON RAINY SEASON
1. just choose what you think you will love. Select physical activities that you enjoy. If you enjoy lifting weights then don't begin training for a marathon or try a thriathlon. Stick with what you like doing to keep motivation levels high.
2. choose your inspiration. This is what others called #fitspiration.. Mine is Ina Raymundo and Jennilyn Mercado. Like them, I'm also a mom who would want to have a healthy and maintain a voluptuous body. Hehe.

We could still exercise even on rainy season with the following:
 - crossfit (strength and resistance training)
 - pilates (carve the core) for the back and core
 - yoga (corrects posture)
 - spin class (ride and burn calories)
 - kickboxing (burn calories and fats)

Stop saying "You can't. You can!". Overcome the things you once thought you can't do. There's no where to go but UP! - Melissa Gohing

Whatever exercise you try, you will soon discover its major benefit. It allows you to forget your problems. Exercise helps you to shed the day's irritations and the focus you place on your feel good exercise results in higher energy levels and optimism can help you feel clearer and calmer. It maintains a more positive look afterwards. Melissa left us with a quote from J. K. Rowling " And so, rock bottom became the solid foundation on which I rebuilt my life"

This for me is a definition of a strong woman:

- a strong woman, is not the one who doesn't cry. A strong person is the one who cries and sheds tears for a moment, then gets up and fights again.

- strong women wear their pain like they do stilletos. No matter how much it hurts, all you see is the beauty of it.

- a strong woman loves, forgives, walks away, lets go, tries again and perseveres. no matter what life throws at her

-"Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow." - Mary Anne Kadmacher
