VICTORIA COURT #VPARTYSERIES MIDNIGHT MYSTERIES: CAN YOU SURVIVE?

Do you think you are bravest of all? Do you have the heart and the courage to stand a 45 minute in a scare room? If yes, then mark your calendars for November 7, 2015 and get ready for the ultimate Halloween event of the year!

FOX International Channels and Victoria Court are partnering up with Breakout Philippines, the country’s premiere escape room game, to bring you an immersive horror experience like no other!

Ever since 2014, Breakout has been providing a unique experience to thousands of players by trapping them in different themed rooms for 45 minutes. They are given an interactive game where players have to team up to find clues and solve
logic puzzles based on various storylines.

Participants are encouraged to PLAN as a team, SOLVE puzzles collaboratively in order to ESCAPE before time expires.

This Halloween season, the game is about to change as it is no longer enough to BREAKOUT… you must now also SURVIVE! You and your friends will be trapped in a room and will have 45 minutes to try and survive the horror set before you.

There will be scare actors that will enter and exit the room as they please. Some will be nice and try to help you by giving you clues, while some… are not. Be prepared as they invade your personal space, tell you bone chilling stories, separate you from your friends and sometimes, even leave you alone in the dark.

Be ready to be pushed out of your comfort zone.

This is still a BREAKOUT event so there is still puzzle solving involved. You will still choose among the 5 Super-thematic Rooms of Victoria Court Malate, which will determine the style of the overall puzzle you will have to solve:

1. The Asgard Room

2. The Casino Royale Room

3. The Bat Cave Room

4. The Candy Land Room

5. The Marakkesh (Sex in the City) Room

If the scares get too extreme for you, there is a safe word… screaming “I want my mommy” will signal our actors to back off and bring you back to your friends.

Though be warned, doing so will forfeit the clue you may receive by surviving the scare. Missing out on 1 clue won’t make it impossible to solve the puzzle, but it will make it very difficult. So wear your brown pants and as much as you can, brave up!

To add up to the scare, there will be a free fear flicks marathon happening at the Victoria Court grounds from 6PM until 12PM.

The breakout rooms have limited slots, so be sure to register now through

www.breakout.com.ph .

You can also visit Victoria Court’s facebook page

(facebook.com/VictoriaCourtPH )

follow their Twitter & Instagram (@victoriacourtVC)) for more updates about this event.

Prepare yourselves for a scare that you won’t forget. See you there!

Ready...Set... Show - Mavs Talent Management "Away Bata" Back to back concert of Gwyneth Dorado

Last October 10th 2015, Mavs Talent Management held a mini-stage play entitled "Away Bata" , as a recital piece of their acting workshop which concluded last May 2015. Back to back with a mini concert of Gwyneth Dorado , one of Mavs Prime Talent, who also brought pride to us Filipinos when she was chosen as one of the finalist of Asia's got Talent.

The mini-stage play is entertaining and timely for what's really happening in our daily lives. The dialogue, acting and stagecraft too are very good. But the characters of Ige and Gelo, I love the most. They are like pros in their acting.

Here are some of the photos from the said mini stage play.

I truly admire this petite girl with her superior singing skill. Thankful for the organizers and producers for the invite, got the chance to be with her and watched her perform live.

Here is a snippet of Gwyneth Dorado's performance.

Not only that the talents are good in acting but in singing and dancing as well.

Herbalife Health Poll: 9 in 10 Filipinos ”highly concerned” about the potential diseases that an unhealthy lifestyle can cause

MANILA, Philippines - Nine in 10 Filipino consumers surveyed by global nutrition company Herbalife are “highly concerned” about the potential diseases that an unhealthy lifestyle can cause them, with the same number believing that simple lifestyle changes can help improve their overall well-being.

A good number of the respondents expressed willingness to adopt a healthy lifestyle; 79 percent said that they would cut down on unhealthy foods, 78 percent expressed their willingness to exercise more regularly, and 72 percent said they would make better nutrition choices.

“We welcome the results of the survey. It gives an understanding of Filipinos becoming even more health concious and self-aware that they need to make some lifestyle changes to improve their overall well-being. It also gives Herbalife an idea where we are needed, because as the survey revealed only four out of 10 would spend 10 to 30 minutes a day to make simple lifestyle changes,” said Rosalio Valenzuela, Herbalife Philippines General Manager.

The respondents, however, cited the following as the top obstacles to achieving a healthy lifestyle: lack of time for exercise (75 percent), lack of time to make proper nutrition choices (64 percent), and high cost of healthy food (62 percent).

The same health poll likewise showed that the top three aging-related concerns in the country were heart, brain, and eye health.

Better knowledge and understanding

“The findings from the Herbalife survey clearly show that the majority of people in Asia Pacific that we questioned believe in the value of good nutrition and exercise as contributing to their overall well-being. We aim to play a greater role in providing practical tips and information to people to help them understand that the journey to a healthier, more active lifestyle is not difficult to achieve. With as little as 10 minutes a day, consumers can take positive steps to improve their nutrition and be more active, which will improve their overall well-being,” said William M. Rahn, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Herbalife Asia Pacific.

Herbalife conducted the survey in September 2015 in the lead-up to its Asia-Pacific Wellness Tour. It surveyed 1,200 respondents across six countries, including the Philippines, on perceptions towards their health and current lifestyle. Respondents from Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, and Thailand were likewise included in the survey.

Herbalife Asia-Pacific Wellness Tour

Now on its fourth year, the Herbalife Asia-Pacific Wellness Tour aims to deepen people’s practical understanding of the various aspects of living a healthy active lifestyle. Its previous tours in the past three years saw close to 60,000 participants across the region.

This year’s Wellness Tour will feature five members of the Herbalife Nutrition Advisory Board (NAB) visiting 14 markets and 21 cities across the Asia-Pacific in the month of October. They will share their expert views on how people can make use of the little time they have to make simple lifestyle changes that will enhance their well-being.

Herbalife’s NAB experts will likewise share their views on a wide range of health-related topics, including weight management, brain health and aging; heart health; immunology; and skin care at the medical symposia being held in Australia, Cambodia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnamn.

The Herbalife NAB experts participating in this year’s Wellness Tour include Dr. David Heber, who incidentally will be coming to Manila, is a leading expert in the field of nutrition and named as one of “The World’s Most Influential Scientific Minds” by Thomson Reuters in 2014 and considered one of “The Best Doctors in America”; Dr. Lou Ignarro, a Nobel laureate in Physiology or Medicine in 1998 for his discovery of nitric oxide’s health benefits; Dr. Gary Small, a specialist in brain health and aging who has authored over 500 scientific works and has received numerous awards and honors, including the “Senior Investigator Award” from the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry; Dr. Marion Fltechner-Mors, a health nutrition specialist who is currently heading the nutrition and obesity research group at Ulm University, Germany; and Dr. Wang Jae Lee, a physician and academic specializing in immunology and a professor at Seoul National University College of Medicine.

Dr. Heber, who is the founding Director of the UCLA Center for Human Nutrition at the University of California, Los Angeles, will be conducting a symposium for free to Filipino medical practitioners on October 23, 9am, at the Manila Hotel. The symposium will gather a group of 100 doctors, nurses, physical therapists and medical practitioners. The title of the symposium is “Obesity: More Than Just Being Overweight and Nutrition Forecast for 2020.” Seminars of Dr. Heber are recognized by US hospitals as part of Continuing Education Studies, which are often required of applicants. The following day, Oct. 24, Dr. Heber will be holding seminars for thousands of Herbalife Independent Members in the same hotel.

This is the first time Dr. Heber, who is also the Chairman of the NAB and the Herbalife Nutrition Institute, to conduct a seminar in Manila since the company was founded in the Philippines 22 years ago.

Save hearts through art by the Rotarians

The Rotary Club of Makati West (RCMW) is calling on art lovers to support their annual all-sculpture exhibit-sale dubbed “Alay Sining”to be held at The Gallery, Greenbelt 5, Makati City from November 12 to 15, 2015. Now on its eight year, Alay Sining 8’s theme is “Art with a Heart” which complements the Rotary International’s theme of “Be a Gift to the World”.

Alay Sining is a fund-raising initiative for one of RCMW’s signature projects, the Gift of Life program, which gives congenital heart disease (CHD) patients under the program with free heart surgeries.
According to RCMW President Victor “Junvee” Vital, supporting the art-for-a cause exhibit will not only mean supporting Filipino children with heart ailments but also local artists.
Both seasoned and new sculptors will be contributing pieces to the Alay Sining, and donating a portion of the sale price of their art pieces to the exhibit’s intended recipients – the CHD patients that will be given free heart surgeries under the Gift of Life program.

“If you support Alay Sining, you don’t only support children with heart ailments, but Filipino artists as well. So I say, “Start saving hearts through art,” said Vidal.

Rotary Club Makati West officers and members joined by the beneficiaries of the Gift of Life program and their parents.
Rotary Club Makati West officers and members (L–R) Edsa delos Santos, Davy Lim, AP Bartolome, Alay Sining 8 chairman Paolo Delgado, Greenbelt’s Cel Gera, Ayala Malls manager Mina Domingo, RCMW president Junvee Vital, Roque Tordesillas and Patrick Dionisio are joined (center) by the beneficiaries of the Gift of Life program and their parents.

According to Paolo Delgado, this year’s chairman of the exhibit’s Organizing Committee, this year’s Alay Sining will be joined by over a hundred artists who have sent their respective works for the exhibit.

“They are from all over the country – we have some from Palawan, Mindanao and Cebu. So, it’s really a Philippine-wide sculpture shop, and what’s really nice is that all of the artists have joined because they want to support the Club and the Gift of Life,” said Delgado.

Some of the participating artists of the Rotary Club of Makati’s Alay Sining 8 showcase their artworks during the exhibit’s recent presscon: (L-R) Jaime Nepomuceno, Glen Cagandahan, Benjamin Dailo, Fred Caedo, Kish Javier, Helena Alegre, Merlito Gepte, Jaime Gubaton, Milmar Onal, Ral Arrogante, and Jinggoy Salcedo.

“They (the artists) have taken all the time and the effort to be with us. We’ve had a lot of them over the last eight years, and they have been with us since the first Alay Sining, when we are still learning how to run an art exhibit. And it’s really been heartening and we are very thankful for all the support that the artists have given us,” he added.

Explained Delgado, congenital heart disease usually forms at a very young age, and the mortality rate is not very good.

“Even if you do survive, you end up living a life with some sort of a handicap… you will not be able to engage in sports which young kids should be doing at their young age. So this fundraising that we run for the Gift of Life can really make a world of difference for the children out there,” he said.

RCMW member and former president Roque Tordesillas said that the cost of a heart surgery in a private hospital ranges from Ph800,000 to more than Php 1 million if for an open-heart surgery.

“But because of the work we have done at the Rotary over the past 11 years, we have established ties with the National Children Hospital, our main partner, which have brought down the costs because of subsidies. So that the Club only pays about P100,000 up to P200,000 especially for more complicated surgeries.

Tordesillas also lauded the Alay Sining artists calling them the “heroes” in this project.

“They are the real heroes of this program because they are the ones contributing their works, their artistry, and their hearts for this particular project. Without the artists, there will be no Alay Sining. We have had very generous artists who have contributed their talents to the cause over the years, so that the hearts of children are saved.”

Speaking on behalf of his co-artists, Ral Arrogante, who have been with Alay Sining since Year One,  said that for them artists, doing charity completes their vocation.

Since we cannot contribute cash, we contribute our works. We can’t fully consider ourselves as artists if we don’t do charity. Our works are the best things that we can contribute),” he said.

CDR-King’s advocates sustainable living thru California E-bike

Disruptors are welcome, from an old school perspective to the most advanced technological breakthroughs in power supply, whichever era you may be, CHANGE is inevitable.

Nikola Tesla during our primary days as student was sadly in obscurity till we reach high school. He challenged the existing and widely accepted manner of lighting though oil lamps to the macro voltage - electricity distribution system courtesy of his well-accepted Alternating Current most commonly known AC.

Nikola Tesla is not as famous as Tomas Edison as taught during basic education, but his works and legacy blazes up to this day. Same aspiration as CDR-King, your one stop media provider intends to manifest, to bring products and cost efficient means of power/electricity supply to every household.

California E-bikes, a CDR-King subsidiary, open its doors in TONDO. The branch is powered by a hybrid electricity system that enables sustainable solar energy. As environmental friendly as it should be, it also aims to display similar concept Solar-kit for ones household in turn helps you save thousands of your hard earned money on monthly electric bill.

California e-bike.jpg

California E-bike started its operation in the Philippines early 2013 with E-Scooter and later on came out with other variants of e-bikes. Today California E-bike offers more than 30 variants in more than 40 branches.

With the steady growth of e-bike followers, California E-bike is gearing towards its mission to improve transportation in an eco-friendly way, one e-bike at a time and reaffirming its efforts towards Green Living to save our environment.

Skin Philosophie by Dra. Kyla Talens - A Luxurious Experience

Looking for a safe and reliable skin and laser treatments that are customized to fit your priorities, lifestyle and resources?

Look no further, Skin Philosophie - your one-stop center for Immaculate Corrections, holistic wellness and lifestyle solution is the best place to go. Located at the highly urbanized district - Bonifacio Global City ( BGC) .

Last October 3, 2015 after the Blogger Babes Asia launch of clozette.co at  Vyne Tapas Bar and Restaurant in BGC, I decided to drop by at Skin Philosophie at Fort Strip, just a stone's throw away from Vyne. As a stay-at-home mom, I seldom go out and pass by that area and I always make it a point to maximize my time whenever I'm out. It's like hitting two birds with one stone.

When I entered their clinic, I was greeted by their courteous and cheerful staff. They were very accomodating. After I talked to one of their staff, she led me to one of the rooms. I availed the Windsor Clarifying Skin Polish (Skin Philosophie's Signature Facial) which I won from Ms. Kat Enerva's  5th anniversary celebration last July 18. The place is clean and well-organized. I love the cozy and relaxing feel of their place.

Now, I'll share with you the procedure I availed.

First comes cleansing using a hypoallergenic cleanser (for sensitive to normal skin) or a degreasing wash ( for oily skin)

Followed by a sensual aromatherapy, a calming lymphatic massage and galvanic toning.

Scrubbing and diamond microdermabrasion come next to facilitate deeper cleansing by removing dead skin cells that clog pores as well as superficial blackheads and whiteheads.

Watch how she delicately move the device on my head. :) :) :) Love it.

Finally, a high frequency device closes the pores and application of toner restores the natural skin pH.

It may seem painful, but No it doesn't hurt at all. The therapist patiently answered all my queries and explained every procedure and its benefits. *sorry for the zit - it's the time of the month again. ;)

That's it. And my before and after photos. Excuse my sleepy eyes.

It was a struggle to stay awake. The soothing music, aroma, perfect room temperature and facial massage will put me to sleep. But I was more interested in observing because It's been almost 3 years since I had my last "ouchy" facial. Glad to know that in 3 years time, the therapist got minimal dead skin cells, white heads and no blackheads. Beat that! She said that I am that particular in taking care of my skin. ♥

The service price starts at P1500, but I assure you, it's worth it! For best results, this should be done monthly. I will definitely visit again because I love their ouchless facial and on my next visit I will definitely give in to sleep. Haha. I like how I was taken care of Ms. Annie, I feel really pampered and treasured.

I went home with a skin that feels cleaner and refreshed.

Manila, Philippines---On October 12, 2015

The Commission On Election (COMELEC) headed by it's Spokesman, Director James Jimenez launched an initiative to educate and influence Filipinos to think better, empower their neighbors and to vote wisely with the launch of  #PILIpinas on Social Media. It's a campaign in order for Filipinos to be ready for this coming May 2016 election with the following objectives;

1. To have a better Philippines by electing the right government officials starts from the lowest post in Barangays up to the Presidential hopefuls.

2. To choose better candidates who will represent the masses.

3. To elect public servants who are patriotic, ready to sacrifice their life for the Filipino people and will help the Philippines to be a first world country once again.

Filipinos right now are 100 Million according to statistics and based on the survey that our economy is getting stronger in terms of investors and employment rate which we're not everyone believes because of the visual poverty that we can see around like growing of indigent people in rural and urban areas and price increase  of basic goods and services over the past years.

#PILIpinas is one way to enlighten, empower and share awareness to everyone on who are the right people to vote for this coming election.

#PILIpinas will give the public a chance on what they like to tell to the candidates via Twitter and Facebook. For more information please log on to http://www.pili-pinas.info .
