MarNigo Serenades the Elderly of GGHCC During Vivo’s Charity Event

Singing loveteam Maris Racal and Inigo Pascual, also known as MarNigo, have graced the Christmas charity event of global smartphone brand Vivo at the God’s Grace Home Care Center (GGHCC) in Quezon City.

Aptly named as Vivo Treasured Moments, the event was meant to bring happiness to the elderly living at GGHCC as the smartphone maker’s employees led in donating cash and goods for the benefit of the home care center.

GGHCC is an institution that accept clients who are the elderly, the disabled, and other patients who need palliative care. Owned by Grace Fe T. Capital and Rufino M. Capita, the institution strives to provide the highest quality care for their clients and perform as the substitute of family care.

Aside from helping in distributing gifts, Maris and Inigo also entertained the elderly and performed their hit songs and covers.

Despite his busy schedule, Inigo spent time with the GGHCC elderly and staff.

Inigo performed first and sang his most famous single, “Dahil Sa’yo,” to the enjoyment of the GGHCC residents.

Inigo made sure the elderly had fun during Vivo’s outreach.

Aside from singing, he also played the “Hephep hooray!” game with the elderly, home care center staff, and Vivo employees. Inigo may have lost the game, but he remained energetic throughout the game and encouraged the remaining players.

This lolo almost upstaged Inigo with his singing voice.
For his second performance, he sang “Sana Ngayong Pasko” while interacting with the lolos and the lolas. He even approached some of them and made them sing a few lines.

Maris is a ray of sunshine to the GGHCC elderly.
Maris, meanwhile, rocked the house a bit with her rendition of “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.”

Like any doting apo, Maris assisted the lolas during the game.

She also played “Siomai, Siopao, Suman” game with the elderly. It was a more challenging version of “Hephep hooray!” Maris was a great sport as she eagerly helped the elderly understand the game and interacted with them every chance she had.

Maris made one of the lolos at GGHCC cry as she performed her original song, “Ikaw Lang Sapat Na.”

The young star also shared her original composition, “Ikaw Lang Sapat Na,” with the elderly and reached out to them during her performance.

The visit to GGHCC is Vivo’s fourth outreach program in the Philippines. The smartphone brand previously aided Cottoleng Filipino, Habitat for Humanity, and the AFP Medical Center (V. Luna General Hospital).

Through their presence and talent, MarNigo was able to make an impact in the lives of both GGHCC staff and residents. Like these rising stars, Vivo aims to impart compassion, kindness, and happiness as part of the company’s responsibility to society. Aside from developing high-grade smartphones, Vivo also has a heart for humanity. #

Perfume Dessert everyone's ultimate accessory

No elegance is possible without perfume. It is the unseen, unforgettable, ultimate accessory.” – Coco Chanel

Have you found your ultimate accessory? I found mine but it's too pricey. Good thing I found a perfume with almost the same scent, but economical that can stay from 4 hours up to 8hours! Eight (8) hours because it offers a 20-30% percent concentration of oils, Perfume Dessert.

Perfume dessert is guaranteed 100% from the U.K. No fakes! You can check it by the first 3 digits of the barcode, they do indicate the country in which the company is based, or the manufacturing company is headquartered, its first 3 digit is 506, and U.K's barcode is from 500-509.

I like almost all their scents, but among all their perfumes, I love the Peach Bourbon Posicle the most it's like their version of Victoria's Secret's Love Spell. For a sexy touch of scent, this one is a must-have! It has a sweet subtle scent which enhances my natural smell. It may be cheap for its quality and appearance but I guarantee you it will not disappoint you.

If you want to smell good or would love to have an expensive perfume but can't afford as of the moment, this is highly recommended (Sing bango pero hindi sing mahal) .

Perfume Dessert packaging

Since the season of giving is fast approaching, Perfume Dessert is not only for personal use, but also best for giveaways or gift for loved ones. You don't need a separate gift wrapper as its packaging is elegant. Effortless.

This 30ml eau de parfum is only P250. Great buy, huh?

Btw, you can also earn money while smelling yummy. How? Visit Perfume Dessert FB page and @perfumedessertph on Instagram.

Julie Anne San Jose: The Embodiment of Vivo’s Edge

Singer-songwriter and actress Julie Anne San Jose has come a long way with her talents. With a career that has spanned more than a decade, Julie Anne has worn many hats: from acting in soaps to producing albums to singing and writing her own songs. Young, beautiful, and full of ambitions, Julie Anne makes the perfect Vivo endorser as she embodies what the brand is: Youthful, beautiful, edgy, and a relentless innovator.

Julie Anne started out very young; no wonder at the age of 24, she already has a multitude of accomplishments under her belt.

“I started singing at two and a half years old. It was my grandparents’ idea to pursue my singing, to pursue being an artist. Then, they encouraged me to join various pageants like Little Miss Philippines. But I stopped for a while because I need to continue my schooling,” she said as she reminisced her ups and downs in the industry.

“I’m just very glad and super-blessed that I have the chance now to pursue my grandparents’ dream and my dream as well. Ever since I was a kid, I’m really passionate about music,” Julie Anne added.

Julie Anne says it’s important to keep innovating herself to offer fresh takes on her craft.

With a relatively long career in entertainment, Julie Anne never fails to put herself on the spotlight despite the many new artists that come along. In her performances and TV appearances, Julie Anne consistently exudes beauty and confidence as she reinvents her appearance and continuously hone her talents.

Vivo is very much the same. The brand relentlessly aims to produce phones with designs that are aesthetically pleasing and highly functional. Sleek and chic, Vivo smartphones are a powerhouse both in specs and design.

“Vivo is a super nice brand. I’m really into selfies. I’m just really glad that Vivo got me as one of its endorsers. I’m just happy to be part of the family… I love Vivo’s features like the In-Display Fingerprint scanner and the camera and the Face ID access,” Julie Anne said.

Julie Anne exhibits radiance and charm with the V11

This is why Vivo and Julie Anne are made for each other. Just like the young songstress, Vivo always reinvents itself with new technology that gives the brand a competitive edge amongst all its other contemporaries. A prolific innovator, Vivo is always ahead of its competitors in terms of cutting-edge technology.

Julie Anne is a proud Vivo endorser.

“I’m really looking forward to more of Vivo’s new smartphones and technology in the future and share them to the youth,” Julie Anne said.

It is exciting to see a bright, young celebrity and a respected global brand collaborate. There is so much in store and to look forward to with Julie Anne and her campaigns for Vivo.

Code the Future for Pinoy kids with Cartoon Network is back!

Coding is our future and that future is here.

In this digital age, coding is a basic knowledge that everyone can benefit from. As important as learning ABCs and counting 123s, learning the art and science of coding can help equip and prepare young ones for their future. And what better way to help as many children learn and understand coding than by making it easier and more accessible?

In partnership with SMILE Group, Cartoon Network is back with Code the Future 2.0 to re-introduce the world of code in a playful and engaging manner. Kids aged 8 to 10 in select Metro Manila schools will have the opportunity to learn basic coding with their favorite cartoon characters from OK K.O! Let’s Be Heroes, The Powerpuff Girls, Adventure Time, and We Bare Bears.

“Having fun in an immersive and interactive way is an effective tool in learning a new skill. Learning the basics of coding and computer programming is a skill that young Filipinos must learn in order to cope and meet the demands of the future. With the integration of Cartoon Network characters, we’re making coding fun, cool and easier for kids to understand!” shared Jia Salindong-Du, Turner Philippines’ Country Manager shared.

In this year’s Code the Future 2.0, Cartoon Network and SMILE Group will go to 10 schools in Metro Manila starting this September until November to teach coding and computer programming to young kids in a way that is fun and easy for them to embrace. These specially developed coding games and activities combine storytelling, physical play, teamwork, and problem solving to foster a passion for coding for kids, while empowering them with the skills necessary to code the future. More than the prizes that kids can win, Code the Future 2.0 aims to bring the kids’ coding skills to a whole new level.

With the help of programming tool Scratch, kids will be exposed to the fundamentals of programming and will get introduced to what learning how to code can lead to, like video sensing and controlling hardware devices.

Cartoon Network sees the importance of learning the fundamentals of coding and programming as early as today. Deemed as the skill of the future, these skills can empower young minds as it will help them become more creative, logical, and analytical, with potentials of developing a passion for coding as early as now. This skill can serve them well for many years to come as more and more industries are becoming increasingly reliant on codes and technology.

L’Oréal’s ‘For Women in Science’ program opens its second cycle in the Philippines

L’Oréal Philippines Continues to Push for Women Empowerment
in the Field of Science

2018 marked a milestone for the field of science in the Philippines as it saw the return of L’Oréal’s For Women In Science (FWIS), a global program in partnership with United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Established in 1998, FWIS aims to support and recognize women researchers who have dedicated their work in finding solutions to the some of the world’s most pressing challenges, as well as encourage young women to take the first step in changing the world through their exceptional ability in the field of science and technology.

Beginning this November, L’Oréal Philippines and UNESCO once again opens FWIS nominations to Filipino women researchers and scientists who are PhD holders until end March 2019. A grant of PHP 400,000.00 will be given to the National Fellow to be awarded on June 2019. To join, interested parties may visit www.forwomeninscience.com.

Carmel Valencia, L’Oréal Philippines’ Corporate Communications Manager shares, “Our commitment to science, and our belief in recognizing women scientists and their outstanding achievements are manifested in our For Women In Science initiative.  We want to ensure that research in every field takes full advantage of the intelligence, creativity, and passion of women. Our fundamental belief is that the world needs science and science needs women, because women in science have the power to change the world.”

L’Oréal Philippines celebrated the return of the program in the country last June 5 through the awarding of the newest FWIS National Fellow for the Philippines– chemical oceanographer Dr. Charissa Ferrera. Her work focuses on educating and advocating for water quality improvement and more sustainable practices in the waters of Anda and Bolinao. Five months after winning the program, Ferrera continues to work alongside science communicators, social scientists, and local government units to improve the fisherfolks’ environment and their livelihood.

“The program provided me with a truly great opportunity to take my research, apply it in communities where it will be most useful in, and create social impact – something that I have always strived to do as a scientist. It was also a chance to raise awareness and inspire more individuals to pursue careers in science,” shares Ferrera on winning the National Fellowship in 2018.

L’Oréal Philippines and UNESCO both believe that continuing the conversation and shedding light on the different factors that deter careers in the field is essential to truly move the needle towards closing the gender gap in the sciences.

“In 2018, we embarked on this journey with L’Oréal Philippines to provide Filipino women researchers and scientists a platform to overcome the challenges they face in the field. In 2019, we want to continue the journey and include more stakeholders in the conversation to be able to inspire development and purposive action towards enabling women to be leaders in science,” said Prof. Shahbaz Khan, Director and Representative of UNESCO Jakarta Office and Cluster Office for the Philippines, Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia and Timor Leste.

But what’s great about the new release is its higher capacity battery and other features that make every Y95 one of the bests of its league.

Vivo releases another head-turner, the Y95.

See beyond the limits
The Vivo Y95 is equipped with the all-new 6.22-inch Halo FullView™ Display with a maximized screen-to-body ratio of 88.6%. The front camera sensor’s place holder in the top middle of the smartphone evokes the halo of a rising sun. It is part of the brand’s efforts to provide a more expansive mobile viewing experience to its every patron. It also provides 1520 x 720 HD+ resolution that ensures vibrant colors and clarity on screen.

Enhanced beauty and clarity
Vivo Y95's 20MP front camera allows it to capture more details to render clearer selfies. Just like most Vivo smartphones, the Y95 is also equipped with artificial intelligence technology such as AI Face Beauty and AI Selfie Lighting that detect age, gender, skin tone, skin texture, and lighting environment to accurately enhance features.

Double the brilliance
The new smartphone also comes with a double rear camera with 13MP main rear camera and a 2MP secondary rear camera. The Y95’s double rear camera captures depth-of-field information to recreate professional-grade bokeh shots effortlessly. Thanks to AI technology, the smartphone can also intelligently identify 140 different photo scenes to automatically optimize every shot to deliver richer blue skies or livelier flowers.

Even without third-party apps, the Y95 can add fun to any photo with its own range of fun, unique stickers that are enhanced with AR technology.

Play on with power that lasts
The Y95 is equipped with higher capacity battery to ensure longer performance. Its 4030mAh battery is complemented by an exclusive, smart-energy power management system that allows users to play at will without running out of battery.

This is further enhanced with the Vivo’s smartphone’s 4GB RAM and Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 octa-core processor with a 12nm design so users can run multiple apps with ease. Moreover, the Vivo Y95 has 64GB of internal storage so users can download as many apps and files as possible.

Smarter user experience

A quick sideways swipe gives users easy access to all these functions, so they can choose what to turn on or off without leaving the game. In addition, the all-new Auto Gaming Mode can keep games running in the background that turns the screen black while opening other apps so game progress will always be saved.

The Y95 has the capabilities to understand what every user needs through its Jovi AI. It can count daily steps and calories, tell the results of sports games, provide updates on weather conditions, and prompt users to take a rest if working late into the night.

Vivo Y95 allows users to enjoy two worlds at the same time with its Split Screen feature. A simple, three-fingered swipe splits the screen in two, enabling users to chat with friends while simultaneously watching videos. It currently supports video streaming, Facebook, Line, Messages, Viber, WeChat, WhatsApp, BBM, Play Movies & TV, YouTube, Video, MX Player, VLC for Android, Google Map, WPS Office, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Chrome, Gmail, and more.

The Vivo Y95 is available in Starry Black and Aurora Red. The Starry Black model adopts a whole new gloss painting process on the back that perfectly blends a deep black and shimmering blue, along with the beautifully pale purple visible when viewed from certain angles.

Whereas dinner conversations are great for finding out how everyone is doing, it may not be as conducive to ironing out sensitive issues as a quiet chore done by two people helping each other out. By focusing on this powerful moment and revealing its essential role in family life, Joy celebrates the unconditional love that Pinoy parents have for their children, one that will triumph over life’s hardest challenges.

Modern, authentic scenes of parenting love

In the “OFW” short film, the brand highlights how OFW parents struggle with the effects of distance and time away from their loved ones, imposed on them by their sacrifice to work overseas.

In the second film entitled “Daughter”, Joy celebrates the love of a father for his daughter, regardless of her life choices that challenge conventions.

Joy salutes the sacrifice of OFWs and parents in an exceptionally realistic and relatable way

Created by Publicis Singapore for P&G, the two films are a departure from Joy’s usual comedic and light-hearted stories, with a more earnest and true-to-life portrayal of family struggles. “OFW” pays homage to heroes often honored, but unfortunately not always understood by their family. It recognizes that for both the OFW and family, homecoming can be bittersweet, but the small everyday moments spent together can help to heal wounds and create precious memories.

When dinner time conversations end, real ones begin.

“Through this film, we want to salute the sacrifices done by our modern-day heroes, while also putting focus on the magic behind appreciating those times where one lets their guard down and can be very candid and open. While we recognize that dinner serves as a great way to gather families together, it also rings true for many families that bonding moments can’t be forced. In many cases, when dinner ends, real conversations start. What matters is truly embracing every moment spent together, and choosing to #ShareAMomentOfJoy,” shares Michael Jonathan Biscocho, Brand Manager, P&G APAC Dish Care.

Noel Orosa, Regional Group Creative Director, Publicis Singapore, adds “While the dinner table is great for bonding the entire family together, we saw dishwashing as a safe alternative space for a family to have real one-on-one conversations. It’s a chore that two family members can do together, which is free from the distractions of mobile devices and everyday family life. For more than two decades now, Joy has been a ubiquitous presence
on the Filipino family’s dishwashing sink, which is why it is in the best position to do this advocacy campaign. This marks a new era for Joy thanks to the brave, progressive leadership of the Joy Brand Team.”

Capture treasured memories effortlessly with AI Photography

The art of photography has already undergone a fundamental transformation with the rise of camera phones. That transformation is set to evolve to another level with the science of photography being the focus emerging AI-embedded smartphones. AI-powered cameras promise a better ‘read’ of different photography settings and can automate functions that could take months or years to learn down to a split-second process. AI technology can quickly identify which settings are needed in any given scenario, allowing even amateur photographers to simply point and capture their magical moments in that exact instant.

This quantum shift in camera science means users no longer require sophisticated professional cameras, allowing users to effortlessly capture and show their vivid memories in more ways and with many more options.

Vivo has been quick to adapt to the evolving needs of consumers with the creation of the V11. The latest smartphone incorporates AI camera tools that solve very specific challenges that users might face while taking pictures – issues such as bad lighting, poor exposure or focus can easily be fixed with just a simple click, meaning taking breathtaking pictures are instantly possible and a reality.

Adjusting lighting has now made easier

Shooting portraits against the light can make for a terrible photo if done improperly. Imagine this, a person is having a great time at a sunset party and wants to snap a picture of him/her with the sunset, but is unable to capture the face clearly because of poor lighting. This scenario would be challenging even for the more professional photographer but could be solved easily with an AI-powered smartphone such as the Vivo V11.

Features, such as the AI Backlight HDR and the AI Low Light Mode that enable the phone to automatically adjust lighting according to the photo settings and subjects. The AI algorithm is the main catalyst that empowers these features. AI Backlight mode can capture up to 6 frames at a wider dynamic range of up to 11ev, correcting uneven exposures and merging them to create perfectly exposed photos. The AI algorithm also ensures that the AI Low Light Mode can intelligently combine different frames into an evenly lit one. By capturing more details and reducing noise in low light situations, it makes it much easier to take stunning photographs with a simple point and shoot.

For selfie lovers, the V11 is also equipped with AI Selfie Lighting which delivers close to the quality of professional studio lighting. Users no longer need complicated lighting settings to get a stunning portrait. Instantly snap and share on social platforms, it’s that easy.

AI is your personal makeup artist

To enhance users’ facial structure, the AI Face Shaping does the trick. The tool comes with a variety of cosmetic facial changes, such as the ability to reshape the size of nose bridges, adjust the distance between eyes, and the size of lips. Looking at your naturally flawless best in all photos has now been made possible. Users can also see the before and after effect and adjust the visual according to their desired preference.

Learning complicated photography settings is no longer required

For beginners in photo-taking, learning the tricks and tools of a complicated camera can be a daunting learning process, but with the AI camera, this is rendered unnecessary. The AI Scene Recognition is a revolutionary feature of the V11. It easily detects and adapts to 18 tags, so users can take the perfect picture automatically anywhere and anytime. Users simply just need to point and shoot, and the camera will quickly and accurately identify different scenes such as ‘night’, ‘portrait’, ‘food’ and apply customized settings to enhance it.

To examine different photo scenarios, the V11 also comes with the AI Portrait Framing that automatically provides the best composition suggestion guiding users to better position the phone while taking pictures. It is able to do so by self-learning millions of data points, and directing users to hold the phone in the optimal position, producing a perfectly framed golden ratio portrait shot.

With the help of the V11’s AI camera features, taking professional shots has never been easier. These outstanding features are literally a compact professional camera packed in a professional-grade hardware right in your palm. The 12MP (with 24 million photosensitive units) main camera plus a 5MP secondary camera ensures the camera’s photographic capabilities are enhanced. Also, the high-resolution 25MP front camera ensures any selfie will be crystal clear.

Today, all you need is an AI smartphone with high-quality camera hardware to transform yourself into a professional-level photographer.
