Sunrise Trail Hike at Masungi Georeserve: An Empowering and Meaningful Birthday Celebration

Image
Since I was a child, as soon as June approaches, I feel thrilled because it's my birth month. I don't eagerly anticipate gifts, but rather the greetings from family and friends. It brings me joy. I am easily pleased. It doesn't take much to make me happy. Whenever I am asked what I want for my birthday, my usual response is "nothing" or "I don't know; I can't think of anything I want or need." I am not materialistic. I am happy. I am healthy. I am blessed with family and true friends. Feeling ko nasa akin na ang lahat and I prefer inner peace. Fancy that! Haha. I find more joy in giving, whether to family, friends, or even strangers. But this time, I said, "Lord, can I give myself a gift this time?" Since a retreat in Batulao is not possible yet, I scheduled a day for myself for a pampering session at the mall. I want to have a massage, facial, manicure/pedicure. I simply wish to unwind and disconnect from the online world for an entire...

CEO Jonathan Uy.

Leading fiber broadband and technology provider Converge ICT Solutions Inc. has strengthened its presence in Leyte, opening the province’s first official Converge business centers in Tacloban City and Ormoc City.

Operated through its managed service partner Leytenet (Powered by Converge), the new hubs are located in Barangay 15, Tacloban City, and Barangay Cogon Combado, Ormoc City.

The official ribbon-cutting ceremonies were attended by Converge SVP and Head of Enablement Bryan King Kay; Converge Regional General Manager for Visayas Geovani Jayme; Converge Regional Commercial Manager for SME Romano Dumaran; Leytenet Chairman Willard Chan; Leytenet CEO Henry Gosyco; Leytenet President Jimmy Yaokasin Jr.; and J Fiber Internet Services Corp. CEO Jonathan Uy. Joining the respective events were also local officials: Tacloban City Vice Mayor Raymund Vincent Romualdez, and Ormoc City Councilor Krizea Cassandra A. Mercadal.

“These new centers reflect Converge’s commitment to serving fast-growing markets where demand for reliable, high-speed internet continues to rise,” said Converge SVP and Consumer Business Group OIC John Paul Aguilar. “As households, schools, businesses, and government agencies across the region adopt more digital tools, having accessible local touchpoints means faster service and stronger support for every subscriber.”

Aiming to extend its services to more subscribers in Leyte, Converge also inaugurated a customer hub in Ormoc City located at Chinatown East Gate, Lilia Ave., Brgy. Cogon Combado. As the most populous province in Eastern Visayas with over 1.82 million residents, Leyte counts Tacloban and Ormoc as vital hubs for commerce, education, governance, and entrepreneurship. The new service hubs bring Converge’s offerings closer to the community, serving as one-stop venues for new subscriptions, account concerns, technical help, and digital solutions inquiries.

“These locations do more than expand our support network—they are a long-term investment in Eastern Visayas’ growth, digital inclusion, and shared future,” added Bryan King Kay. “We are working to bridge the digital divide, ensuring world-class connectivity reaches more Filipino communities.”

The newly opened customer service hubs will serve as a key touchpoint for various customer transactions such as application processing, bills payment, technical assistance, and subscription upgrades.

Customers may visit either hub for a full range of transactions, including bill payments, service reports, plan upgrades, repair requests, general inquiries, and new application processing.

Guided by its mission to leave no Filipino behind, Converge continues expanding into underserved and remote areas nationwide. The company is accelerating rollout across Visayas and Mindanao by opening more business centers and boosting network infrastructure deployment.
