Sunrise Trail Hike at Masungi Georeserve: An Empowering and Meaningful Birthday Celebration

Image
Since I was a child, as soon as June approaches, I feel thrilled because it's my birth month. I don't eagerly anticipate gifts, but rather the greetings from family and friends. It brings me joy. I am easily pleased. It doesn't take much to make me happy. Whenever I am asked what I want for my birthday, my usual response is "nothing" or "I don't know; I can't think of anything I want or need." I am not materialistic. I am happy. I am healthy. I am blessed with family and true friends. Feeling ko nasa akin na ang lahat and I prefer inner peace. Fancy that! Haha. I find more joy in giving, whether to family, friends, or even strangers. But this time, I said, "Lord, can I give myself a gift this time?" Since a retreat in Batulao is not possible yet, I scheduled a day for myself for a pampering session at the mall. I want to have a massage, facial, manicure/pedicure. I simply wish to unwind and disconnect from the online world for an entire...

LG Launches 2026 "Life’s Good" Campaign: Free Up Your Mind for What Truly Matters

New global initiative highlights how thoughtful innovation and LG AI can ease the invisible mental load of modern life

LG Electronics (LG) has officially launched its 2026 Life’s Good campaign, centered on the powerful message: Free up your mind. The campaign explores how LG AI and intelligent innovation can lighten the invisible mental weight of daily routines, creating space for people to focus on what matters most.

This marks the fourth year of LG’s flagship Life’s Good campaign, building on previous themes including We don’t make life good, you do (2024) and Less artificial. More human (2025). This year, the brand turns its attention to a growing struggle shared by people around the world: the heavy mental load that comes with managing modern life.

The Hidden Weight We Carry

Research commissioned by LG reveals that people spend the equivalent of 87 days a year — nearly one quarter of their time — burdened by mental load: the endless stream of micro-decisions, reminders, and small responsibilities that occupy thoughts even during rest. On average, people face 27 such mental interruptions every waking hour.

The impact is significant:

- 51% say mental load stops them from sleeping well

- 49% report it affects their physical health

- Unpaid household tasks contribute more to this burden than paid work

Perhaps most telling: when asked what they would do if this weight were lifted, most did not seek greater productivity or achievement. Instead, they longed for simple joys: unplanned time with loved ones, getting lost in a book, or moments free from constant responsibility.

Technology That Steps Back, So You Can Step Forward

The campaign frames technology not as a tool to help people do more, but as a way to quietly handle routine demands — so people can spend less time managing life and more time living it. Nearly three in four respondents (73%) believe smart home technology can reduce mental load, especially solutions that work proactively without constant supervision.

LG’s "Affectionate Intelligence" vision brings this to life:

- The campaign’s main film follows one family setting aside daily worries for an evening of genuine connection

- Product stories show how LG WashTower, LG Styler, LG OLED TV, and LG DUALCOOL work behind the scenes to simplify routines

- An interactive online experience helps people identify their own sources of mental load, making the invisible burden visible

“Technology should enrich lives by giving us back our most precious resources: time and attention,” said Kim Hyo-eun, Head of LG Brand Management Division. “Through this campaign, we want to show how innovation can create room for the moments that make life truly good.”

Dr. Judith Joseph, board-certified psychiatrist and 2026 TIME100 Creator, added: “Constant unshared domestic duties are a leading cause of emotional exhaustion. LG’s focus on reducing this mental load addresses a critical need of our time. When intelligent tech eases these invisible burdens, we reclaim the energy we need for joy, spontaneity, and connection.”
