Sunrise Trail Hike at Masungi Georeserve: An Empowering and Meaningful Birthday Celebration
InLife Benefits and PhilHealth have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to bring PhilHealth’s YAKAP Preventive Care Program to private sector employees. This marks the first partnership of its kind between PhilHealth and a private healthcare benefits provider.
The collaboration aims to raise awareness of preventive health services, encourage early disease screening, and help more Filipinos make full use of the benefits available to them. It links PhilHealth’s preventive health initiative with InLife Benefits’ wide network of corporate clients, creating a clear path for employees to access affordable screening and wellness support before conditions become serious.
Many private sector workers are PhilHealth members but remain unaware of the free preventive services under the YAKAP Program. This partnership directly addresses that gap.
“Many illnesses can be prevented if caught early. Our national health system is shifting toward proactive care, and this partnership lets us help people take charge of their health before health concerns become critical,” shared Dr. Isabel Umali, Deputy Medical Director of InLife Benefits.
PhilHealth chose InLife Benefits as a partner for its broad reach and strong digital infrastructure. “Awareness of the YAKAP Program remains low even among active members. Through InLife’s extensive corporate connections and reliable systems, we can bring this program directly to private workplaces,” explained Dra. Bernadette Lico, Vice President of PhilHealth Regional Office NCR and Rizal.
The YAKAP Program is backed by more than 4,000 accredited clinics nationwide, including over 750 facilities in Metro Manila, making preventive services easy to access. Both organizations see this initiative as a blueprint for future public-private cooperation in healthcare.
Moving forward, the partners plan to expand coverage to employees’ dependents and engage more employers across all industries. Their long term goal is to help as many Filipinos as possible benefit from preventive care and build a stronger, healthier workforce.
