Lenovo has announced the appointment of Sumir Bhatia as the first-ever Chief Commercial Officer for the Asia Pacific region.
In this newly created role, Bhatia will lead the unified commercial organization, bringing together enterprise sales, solutions, channels, and alliances teams under one umbrella. His goal is to drive stronger alignment and accelerate growth across the region. He will continue to report to Amar Babu, President of Asia Pacific at Lenovo.
A true Lenovo veteran, Bhatia has spent the past decade leading the Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG) business, where he successfully spearheaded a transformative phase of sustained growth.

The Asia Pacific region represents a vibrant landscape for digital transformation. With varying levels of digital maturity and evolving infrastructure needs, there is immense potential for Lenovo to deliver flexible, end-to-end technology solutions.
Under Bhatia’s leadership, the new organization will ensure seamless integration of Lenovo’s full-stack AI offerings and commercial capabilities across all business groups. This strategic move aims to deliver comprehensive Hybrid AI solutions that effectively address the diverse needs of commercial customers.
Leadership Transition
This appointment follows the announcement of the upcoming retirement of Ivan Cheung, Vice President and General Manager of PCs & Smart Devices (PCSD) and Chief Operating Officer for Asia Pacific, set for June 2026. Lenovo recognizes Cheung’s significant contributions and instrumental role in driving the company’s growth and success in the device business over the years.
Succeeding Cheung since March 2026 is Benjamin Yeh, who brings over two decades of industry experience and deep expertise to lead the PCSD business into its next phase of expansion.
