Leading fiber broadband and technology solutions provider, Converge ICT Solutions Inc., is significantly expanding its manpower—particularly in network operations and maintenance—to complement its massive investments in digital infrastructure.
Following the launch of its National Digital Infrastructure in Pampanga and the announcement of a 30% increase in capital expenditure for network hardening, Converge is intensifying its recruitment efforts. The company is hiring more network technicians to extend coverage nationwide and significantly improve customer response times.
“With the national digital infrastructure in place, we also need to invest in the people who run and maintain our fiber network,” said Converge CEO and Co-Founder Dennis Anthony Uy. “One of the things I lament is that Filipino talent is always lured to find opportunities abroad, and this is true also for skilled technicians. With our hiring campaign, we hope to fill this gap in human resources.”
Since late 2025, Converge’s People and Culture (P&C) Group has actively pursued recruitment through weekly open houses, regional caravans, and strategic partnerships with academe and government agencies. These efforts have already resulted in the hiring of nearly 600 technicians as of the first quarter of the year, covering critical areas such as backbone maintenance, Outside Plant (OSP) operations, and service installation.
“Every mile of fiber laid is a bridge built between a personal dream and a global reality,” said Mylene Sardinia, Converge Senior Vice President and P&C Head. “We aren't just ramping up technicians; we are empowering the messengers of the digital world.”
She emphasized that the initiative also brings opportunities closer to communities. Through partnerships with Public Employment Service Offices (PESO) and TESDA, the company enables technicians to work closer to home while serving the areas that rely on their networks.
A Holistic Approach to Recruitment and Development
Mirroring its successful hiring drive during the pandemic, Converge maximized both digital and traditional channels to reach applicants. Job postings were featured on Facebook, LinkedIn, and major job boards, complemented by face-to-face hiring events.
Furthermore, Converge ensures continuous professional growth. The company maintains robust training programs in partnership with TESDA and other vocational institutions, welcoming even those without prior experience. There are also dedicated programs for upskilling, management training, and recognition for senior technicians who have advanced to leadership roles.
This investment in human capital aligns with the Department of Information and Communications Technology’s (DICT) National Digital Connectivity Plan, which aims to strengthen the resilience of the country’s digital infrastructure.
“For many years, the story of connectivity in our country has been about gaps: kulang sa coverage, kulang sa capacity, kulang sa access—lagi na lang kulang,” DICT Secretary Henry Aguda said during the launch last March 20. “And while those challenges are real, today we are seeing a shift. Hindi na lang tayo humahabol. We are beginning to build forward with intention, with scale, and with clear direction.”
