The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is driving the Philippines’ ambition to become Asia’s Premier Creative Hub by 2030 with the launch of the Malikhaing Pinoy Creative Expo (MPEx). Held from September 3–7 at SMX Aura, Taguig City, this five-day national event celebrates Philippine Creative Industries Month (PCIM) and unites all nine creative domains under one roof.
Trade Secretary Cristina A. Roque emphasized the expo’s role in advancing President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s vision to harness creativity for economic growth. “Filipino talent deserves global recognition,” she said. “DTI is committed to providing infrastructure and support—like MPEx—to empower our artists and creators.”
What to Expect at MPEx
MPEx features dedicated pavilions for each creative domain:
- Audiovisual Media (Film Development Council of the Philippines)
- Digital Interactive Media (Game Developers Association of the Philippines)
- Design (Design Center of the Philippines, Philippine Fashion Coalition)
- Performing Arts (Cultural Center of the Philippines)
- Traditional Cultural Expressions, Visual Arts, Publishing, Creative Services, and Cultural Sites (Ayala Museum).
Visitors can explore exhibits of paintings, sculpture, animation, and comics, plus attend Malikhaing Pinoy Chats—conversations with industry leaders and policymakers. The expo also includes “Creative Matchmaking for Filipino Games,” where indie developers pitch ideas to investors. Dungeon King of Midnight Equinox won Best Game Pitch.
