Novuhair Supports Alopecia Areata Awareness in Celebrating Inner Strength

September marks the month-long commemoration of Alopecia Areata awareness worldwide. Alopecia areata is a condition when hair loss occur due to faults in the immune system attacking the hair follicles which results in partial or total loss of hair on the head and other parts of the body.

Leading this year’s celebration in the country is Alopecia Philippines, a group founded by singer and songwriter Abby Asistio in 2012. She has been championing the cause of empowering citizens with this condition.

Abby is no stranger to alopecia, having been diagnosed with alopecia areata since she was four years old. Abby’s decision to come out in public with her condition was a major turning point in her life.

On September 2012, Abby decided to start an online campaign in time with Alopecia Awareness Month by inviting family and friends to pose with the double “A” (inverted “V”) sign using their fingers on the photo sharing site, Instagram. It quickly caught on and Abby was overwhelmed by the response from netizens, with over a thousand photo contributions to date.

This paved the way for the beginnings of Alopecia Philippines. It aims to raise awareness about alopecia and correct common misconceptions and perceptions about it, provide encouragement to people afflicted with it, and create an online support community for them.

Inspired by Abby’s honesty and courage, men and women, kids and teens from different walks of life began sharing their own stories and struggles living with alopecia. What started out as a group of ten is now more than 300 members strong and its Facebook page – Alopecia Areata Awareness, draws followers from all over the world.

REVIEW : Vaniderm VCO Essential Oil with Lavender

So many personal care products at home? Yes? Since I want to practice minimalism at home, I would start with these products.

Before, I would use different  products for my kids' skin (they got sensitive skin) and mine when itching, a different lotion for me and my kids for massage at night to put them to sleep, a special oil for  Mr. MITD, to relax his tensed muscles after a long day at work.

Now, I have found a product that can be used by my family for our skin rashes, insect bites and for massage. Good thing that it is also paraben free since it uses all natural ingredients-- The Vaniderm VCO Essential Oil with Lavender. It has a calming and relaxing effects and helps relieve muscle and joint pains; can also be applied to minor burns, insect bites and stings.

Vaniderm VCO Essential Oil with Lavender

Whenever I see insect bites on my kids' skin or mine, I use this product and voila! Itching's gone in no time. Tested and proven by me and my family.

What I love about this product aside from its fresh scent (that has a calming and relaxing effects),  is its non-greasy fomulation which is easily absorbed by the skin. Walang lagkit-feel! :)

Ingredients : Virgin Coconut Oil, Lavender Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Olive Oil, Rice Bran Oil and Sunflower Oil.

Another staple at home. :-)
All in one bottle!

Visit and follow their Facebook page for more  details and products. ;)

Care for your hair ! Go natural with Vaniderm Gugo and Aloe Vera Shampoo with VCO

Thinning hair? Falling hair? Dry scalp?  Fret not! Vaniderm has got you covered.

Were you born and raised in the era where our elders would use aloe vera and gugo to help thicken hair, make it shiny and smooth? I am! Maybe the reason why I also have thick hair when I was small. I can still remember my mom would pick up aloe vera in our relative's yard to use on us (my sibs and I).

In this day and age that even our #1 trusted shampoo for our kids is not safe, I always make sure that the products I use for my family is all natural. Lately, I was given this product by a friend as a token. Upon knowing the ingredients, I used it or rather my family started using it. The more it made our bonding time in the bathroom fun and relaxed. We love the smell of the shampoo as if we are in a spa while taking a bath - very calming.

I took a photo of my mom's hair as some part is thinning. She has also started using Vaniderm .

Will update this post as we continue to use the product.

Ingredients :

Virgin Coco Oil, Gugo, Aloe Vera, Hibiscus, Banana Extracts and saponified VCO Liquid wash soap.
