40 - Day Miracle : Creating Habits That will Transform Your Life by Mike Grogan

After the successful "Unleash the leadership in you" under Asia Leaders Talk, we are once again inviting you to join  Mike Grogan (founder of BestofYou) in this unique 40-Day Habit Formation Program that will inspire and empower you to create simple yet powerful success habits that will get you to where you need to be.

Success and fulfillment in life can only be achieved by the might and force of Habit. Few people truly understand how to create the right habits, thus mediocrity and inconsistency become their norm.

To get to the next level in any area of your life (e.g. health, relationships, career, finances, spiritual), we must abandon the search for overnight solutions and instead intentionally commit ourselves to creating the right Habits that over time will transform us.

The goal of The 40-Day Miracle Program is to prepare, guide and encourage you to not only know the science of habit formation but to be successful in applying it to your life and to be able to mentor others that you care about to do the same.

If history has taught us anything, it tells us that no one can make it on his or her own. This is your chance to become the person you are meant to be, for both yourself and those that depend on you.

A PASTA FESTA FOR THE PEOPLE by Doña Elena Al Dente Pasta in Celebration of World Pasta Month

Come join us this October 9 as we celebrate the World Pasta Month and say... It's Al Dente!
Join our online contest and pre-register for the event, visit

Craving for a bit of Italian? The first thing that comes to mind is a big heaping bowl of pasta, covered with your favorite sauce and sprinkled with lots of Parmesan cheese. It is a dish that everyone loves to eat often, that pasta has become a kitchen pantry staple. Doña Elena Al Dente Pasta brings a taste of Italy to the Filipino home with its line of Italian artisanal pasta noodles, made of 100% durum wheat semolina.

Doña Elena Al Dente Pasta is produced according to the tradition of true Italian pasta. There is actually an Italian law that prescribes that pasta must be made using 100% durum wheat semolina, which is the hardest of all the wheat varieties and has the highest protein content. It is the use of durum wheat that makes pasta “al dente” or “firm to the bite.”

Doña Elena Al Dente Pasta is the only authentic Italian Artisan Quality pasta brand in the Philippines. It is crafted with bronze dies which leave a rough surface on the pasta, helping sauces cling better to the pasta, thus making it more delicious. Doña Elena Al Dente Pasta is available in 5 variants – Fettuccine, Penne Rigate, Fusilli, Spaghetti and Lasagna. Plus, Doña Elena uses all natural GMO-free ingredients in its pasta, which makes it really good for you!
The most popular form of pasta, SPAGHETTI is (singular spaghetto) derived from the Italian word spago, meaning thin string or twine. Its best-known servings are Spaghetti alla Bolognese and Aglio Olio. Available in 500g pack.

PENNE (singular penna) RIGATE (ridged). The pasta gets its name from penna, meaning feather or quill. It is often used in various pasta dishes, boiled until al dente and tossed with sauces or baked in ovens. Available in 250g & 500g packs.

LASAGNA (singular lasagne) is a wide, flat pasta shape with curly edges that help hold the sauce. It is probably the oldest form of pasta in the Mediterranean. Its most common dish involves layering the pasta with alternating béchamel and meat sauces and baking the whole assembly in an oven. Available in 500g pack.

FUSILLI (singular fusillo) are long, thick, corkscrew-shaped pasta. It is this shape that lets fusilli hold a lot of flavor and sauces. Available in 250g & 500g packs.

Over the years, pasta has become such a favorite dish for Filipinos. In fact, almost every gathering or special occasion isn’t complete without a big platter of spaghetti Bolognese or baked macaroni. Or maybe even an original recipe using shrimp, Spanish sardines or even spicy tuyo.

FETTUCCINE is derived from the Italian word fetta, meaning ribbon. This basic noodle provides a better surface for catching sauce. It is often served in Alfredo sauce, a mix of parmesan cheese and butter. Available in 500g pack.

 Doña Elena Al Dente Pasta brings the Filipino’s passion for this versatile noodle to the forefront with the celebration of World Pasta Month, this October. The celebration started in Rome in 1995 with the First World Pasta Congress, and countries all over the world have come up with their own festivities since. After all, pasta is a global food consumed in all five continents and is a perfect fit for a dynamic and healthy lifestyle. The campaign and series of events will highlight every foodie’s love for pasta and how it has become such an integral part of Pinoy culture.

The campaign kicks off with the Doña Elena Al Dente Online Pasta Recipe Contest, which is open to all home cooks and pasta enthusiasts. The mechanics are simple – upload a photo of your pasta dish with your original or favorite recipe made using Doña Elena Al Dente Pasta to Instagram and tag @DonaElenaCuisineraClub  with the hashtag #AlDentePastaMonth. Don’t have Instagram? You can also upload your entries to .

Each entry will be reviewed for a chance to be part of the finals where the top five will have to cook their dish in front of a live audience at the upcoming Doña Elena Al Dente Pasta Festa. Deadline for submission of entries is on September 30, 2015.

For more contest details, you can log on to .

The main highlight of the Pasta-rrific festivities is the Doña Elena Al Dente Pasta Festa – World Pasta Month Celebration to be held on October 9 at the Main Mall Atrium, SM Mall of Asia. It is not to be missed by foodies, home cooks and aspiring chefs alike – and it’s best to come with a healthy appetite.

The event will feature an Italian Food Fair, reminiscent of walking thru the food streets of Italy. Looking for a new recipe to try? Chef Ben Bernardo of Café Royal & Pasha, along with Chef Roberto Bellini (of the famed Bellini’s Restaurant in Cubao) will be sharing their favorite recipes in a fun cooking demonstration.

Another highlight will be the grand finals for the Doña Elena Al Dente Online Pasta Recipe Contest, to see who will emerge with the best pasta recipe of the season, for a chance to win cash and kitchen appliances.

If you’re feeling a little hungry, the Pasta Eating Contest could be right up your alley, where you can chow down on delicious Doña Elena Al Dente Pasta dishes and win a prize. It will definitely be a fun day of eating, cooking and celebrating, so mark the date on your calendars. The event will be hosted by Aksyon sa Umaga Anchor Grace Lee.

Filipinos with diabetes more prone to having periodontal disease

Diabetic patients may most likely lose the sweetness in their smile.

In the Philippines, there are more than 3.4 million Filipinos diagnosed with diabetes and this number is projected to grow to 6.16 million in 2030. While these people are also two to four times more likely to die of heart disease than people without diabetes, they are likewise candidates for a severe gum disease.

Diabetic patients endure the unsweetened taste of food. While they keep their blood sugar under control, they are at an increased risk of periodontal disease, which causes the teeth to wear off.

According to the Department of Health, nine out of ten Filipinos are suffering from periodontal disease, a severe form of gum disease that tends to pull the teeth away from the gums. Also known as periodontitis, this manifests through excessive plaque formation, bad breath, painful chewing, swelling of the gums, and bleeding of the gums during flossing or brushing.

When periodontitis occurs, the gum infection damages the soft tissue and the bone that support the teeth. Dr. Angelica Beatriz De Castro, a general dentist from Healthway Medical, said that neither age nor gender could prevent a person from acquiring the disease.

“Anybody can be a candidate for periodontitis,” Dr. De Castro said. “If one does not go to the dentist regularly, then there’s plaque accumulation or food stuck between the teeth and the gums that may result to gingivitis.”

According to Dr. De Castro, gingivitis is the first stage of periodontitis. If plaque is not removed immediately, “irritants may go deeper to the gum tissue and cause bone loss.”

“Periodontitis is a precursor to diabetes. It usually releases periodontal pathogens that trigger abnormal insulin production,” Dr. De Castro added. “Once you have diabetes, it is more likely to have periodontitis.”

Diabetes reduces a person’s ability to fight bacteria. When bacteria stay on the teeth long enough, it leads to the formation of plaque. This plaque will harden and will spread through the gum line, making it harder to clean.

When this happens, diabetic patients with periodontitis will find it hard to resist infection and slow the healing process when they accidentally hit the wrong spot in the mouth, causing the gums to bleed. This infection may also trigger the blood sugar to rise, making your diabetes levels more difficult to control.

Dr. De Castro said that, unfortunately, diabetic patients with periodontitis cannot self-medicate to treat the disease.

“Periodontitis is only treatable if you clean the area of the teeth and take out the irritant itself. Usually, it’s not seen above the gums; it's actually beneath and below the gum line,” Dr. De Castro said. “If regular patients visit their dentists twice a year, those who have periodontitis need to come at least three times a year to monitor [the condition].”

Carmie de Leon, vice president for sales and marketing of Healthway Medical, said that
while it is important for diabetic patients to keep a close watch on their daily food intake, it is equally important to maintain healthy oral practices to prevent plaque formation.

Whether you’re a type 1 or type 2 diabetes patient, preventing periodontitis may help in managing your blood sugar levels.  This is why Healthway Medical—the most trusted and preferred mall-based clinics in the Philippines—suggests the most important considerations every diabetic patient must follow to prevent the severe gum disorder.

For a holistic mouth care while keeping your diabetes at bay, you’ll need to make a commitment to managing your diabetes.

“When you are able to control your sugar intake, the less likely you are to develop gingivitis,” de Leon said. “Aside from this, you also need to brush your teeth lightly at least twice a day, floss at least once daily, schedule regular dental cleaning, prevent smoking, and consult your oral health expert regularly.”

Healthway Medical offers dental services to its Filipino patients who want to win a confident smile. According to de Leon, the teeth need regular attention “beyond brushing and flossing.”

“Everyone deserves good quality dental services that will help them win a confidence-boosting smile. With our competent dental medicine experts, we can help Filipinos with diabetes smile sweetly again and help them go back to their normal lives,” de Leon concluded.

If you think you have periodontitis or any other oral health concerns, visit any Healthway Medical clinics at the Alabang Town Center, Shangri-la Plaza, Market! Market!, Festival Mall, Healthway Manila, SM The Block and Greenbelt 5.

A life without challenges is a life wasted. That's why...

I'm pretty sure you have seen Dove's TV commercial . Where 3 ladies where put to a 7 day challenge. No mirrors and only a bar soap to wash their face. The thing is you can really get healthy looking skin with just some good old-fashioned soap and water.

Our family's been using Dove for quiet sometime. Sensitive skin unscented for the kiddos for their sensitive and asthma prone skin. Gentle exfoliating beauty bar for me. Even before, when I used to live in Tagaytay for 3 yrs, I use Dove because the cold weather dries up my skin, I need to use too much lotion and moisturizer to hydrate my skin. Since I moved to Manila and the "in-thing" is a whitening soap, "peer pressure " strikes. So I started using whitening soap. But during the cold season, I would switch back to Dove to prevent my skin from drying.

Lately, been doin a review of a whitening soap (not the brand I always post on my Instagram because that's clinically proven, tested and effective) this is a new whitening soap. Won't mention the product. It dries up my skin. My skin was like - I.AM.THIRSTY... Haha. I need to put on too much moisturizer again. Very high maintenance indeed.

Luckily, Dove chose me to take the 7 day challenge. Yay! Excited, I used Dove the day after I received it. And my skin was like- OMG! ahh..Refreshing! Cheering and doing the happy dance.

My skin was moisturized again even after the first wash. After 7 days, I definitely noticed a change in the way my skin felt, it's softer. It looked healthier too. No moisturizer used within that 7 day test, only Dove beauty bar soap. That's lotsa savings. Very economical. My skin is hydrated, moisturized and looking great. I love my skin as much as I love my kids. That's why I will continue to use this soap even after the challenge.

After 7 days...Tadaaa!!! No filter just a lippie
It doesn't really matter if you don't have fair or white skin, what matters is if your skin is well protected and taken cared of to have a healthy, moisturized skin with the products you are using. BTW, in addition, I have this hard, scaly skin on part of my right index finger, it softens as well. That's because of Dove. :)

It's night time but I still feel fresh. Thanks to Dove!
Thanks also to Dove Oxygen & Nourishment Shampoo for keeping my curly hair moisturized and soft 'til bedtime. ♥ time check 11:40pm

You wanna feel the difference? Take the Dove 7 day test.

"Sometimes overcoming a challenge is as simple as changing the way you think about it. "

-This isn't a sponsored post. I simply wanted to thank Dove for giving me a chance to be part of the 7 Day Test.

Visit Dove's facebook page for more information.

Thank you for visiting my blog! I would love to hear your thoughts . Your comments are always welcome and appreciated!

REGROE : Celebrating 28 Years of Hair Growing Tradition - FREE HAIR AND SCALP ANALYSIS

Since September is Alopecia awareness month and Regroe is celebrating their 28 Years of hair growing tradition, Minoxidil Regroe is giving a FREE hair and scalp analysis from September 17-23 at SM Megamall Bldg to know more about the condition of your hair and scalp using their multidermascope.

Alopecia also known as spot baldness, is an AUTOIMMUNE disease in which hair is lost from some or all areas of the body, usually from the scalp due to the body's failure to recognize "self" and destroys its own tissue as if it were an invader.

Alopecia areata (photo from the web)
Shedding around 50 to 100 strands a day is normal. Each strand lost is replaced by new hair from the same follicle located just beneath the skin surface. While shedding is a normal phenomenon, a combination of factors such as heredity and hormonal activity can come into play causing hair follicles to shrink. Over time, this progressive shrinking of hair follicles leads to shortening of the hair growth cycle until there is no growth at all.

Causes of hair fall

* Heredity
* Medication
* Pregnancy
* Stress
* Habitual plucking

Falling and thinning hair need not be feared any longer. Regroe products are here to save the day. Minoxidil Regroe is the only medically proven topical solution to stop thinning and falling, and to regrow hair all at the same time.

When used regularly, Regroe works in three ways:

1. Prevents Hair Fall -Regroe prevents the production of Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) , the hormone responsible for hair thinning and falling.

2. Stimulates Hair Matrix Cells - Regroe directly stimulates the small hair matrix cells to continuously divide and multiply in order to produce longer and thicker hair.

3. Improves Circulation and Nutrition - Regroe dilates and increases the size of smaller blood vessels around the follicles, improving blood flow and oxygenation for better nutrition of the follicles.

Intoducing their newest product Grey Away Anti-Grey Hair Treatment is for people with visible greying of hair. It brings back the natural color of hair strands and prevents it from turning grey without the risk of the harmful effects of colorants.

P 995.00

It contains:

Melitane - a polypeptide that stimulates melanin production, reversing the grey hair process.

EMortal Pep - a 4-amino acid polypeptide that promotes hair growth.

I do not have grey hair, I have WISDOM highlights. Lol

Experience hair rebirth. Bring back the Black. Less hair fall with Regroe.

Minoxidil Regroe is available in all leading drugstores nationwide. For more information, check  Regroe's Facebook page or call 818-11-31.

REGROE : The Effective Hair Grower

Alopecia areata? Hair shedding? Hormonal issues?

Losing your hair is perfectly normal - we shed up to 100 hairs a day - but for some people hair loss is much more serious and it's affecting a growing number of men and women under 40. The most common type of hair loss can be triggered by life changing events such as stress, a bereavement or pregnancy, leading to overall thinning of the hair. If you've noticed gradual thinning or found clumps of hair on the bathroom floor it can come as a shock. But don't fret ladies amd gentlemen because Minoxidil Regroe is the answer for all your hair concerns.

The growth of each hair follicle normally occurs in a cycle. The three main phases of the hair growth cycle are anagen, catagen, and telogen.

Anagen is the active growth phase when hairfiber is produced. Catagen is the transitional stage when hair growth stops. The hair remains attached to the root of the follicle. While Telogen is the resting stage when the shedding occurs.

When used regularly, Regroe works in three ways. It prevents hair fall because Regroe prevents the production of Dihydrotestosterone which is the hormone responsible for hair thinning and falling. It also stimulates hair matrix cells. Regroe directly stimulates the small hair matrix cells to continuously divide and multiply in order to produce longer and thicker hair. And lastly, Regroe improves circulation and nutrition. It dilates and increases the size of smaller blood vessels around the follicles, improving blood flow and oxygenation for better nutrition of the follicles.

The main ingredient of Regroe is Minoxidil, Minoxidil is a potent solution derived from extensive medical research and medical testing. It is the only clinically proven solution to prevent hair loss approved by both US-FDA and the Philippine BFAD. Minoxidil works by stopping excessive hair falling and stimulates hair re-growth. Hair growth requires constant stimulation and optimal delivery of oxygen and nutrients from the circulatory system to the hair follicle. Without these processes, your hair may lack the maximum fullness, strength and the vibrancy you want.

Minoxidil Regroe is available in 3 variants. 3%, 5% and the 6%. 3% is for mild hair loss, 5% is for moderate hair loss and recommended for first time users and 6% is for severe hair loss.

Minoxidil Regroe is available in all leading drugstores nationwide. For more information, check Regroe’s facebook page or call 818-11-31.
