OPPO Releases 2024 Sustainability Report, Reaching its Climate Target Two Years Earlier than Planned

OPPO has released its 2024 Sustainability Report, marking its fifth consecutive year of publishing the annual report. OPPO announces in the report that the company has reached the peak of carbon emissions across its own operations in 2022, two years ahead of its original climate target. As a global technology company with operations spanning over 70 countries and regions, OPPO ranks as the world’s fourth largest smartphone brand for four consecutive years. The report also outlines OPPO’s efforts and achievements in building a more inclusive and sustainable future by focusing on the following five areas: virtuous innovation, environmental protection, ecosystem engagement, operations and compliance, and caring for employees. ‌ Driven by its brand renewal – “Make Your Moment”, OPPO will propel sustainability forward to create meaningful impact through green innovation and responsible technology.

Making its Operation and Products Greener BOLD

Following its 2023 commitment to achieving carbon peak by 2024 and carbon neutral by 2050 across its own operations, OPPO has been actively exploring new models for reducing emission intensity. Many initiatives have shown results, with OPPO's operational carbon emissions falling in both 2023 and 2024. OPPO achieved a 3.2% year-on-year reduction in Scope 1 & 2 emissions in 2024, equivalent to the annual sequestration capacity of about 514,320 mature trees. By mobilizing its supply chain partners, OPPO reduced Scope 3 emissions by 9.3% compared to the previous year.

Beyond carbon reduction efforts, OPPO also implements green management practices across the entire lifecycle of its products. In 2024, OPPO implemented lightweight packaging design across its entire smartphone product line, reducing paper consumption by 10 tons per million units—equivalent to preserving approximately 200 trees. The company also adopts recycled materials made from plant residues such as sugarcane and bamboo to replace traditional paper materials. In Europe, the proportion of recycled material content in mobile phone box packaging increased from 45% to 55%. Furthermore, OPPO integrates innovative engineering solutions to improve the durability of its products. The OPPO A3 Pro, for example, uses Damage-proof 360° Armour Body to improve drop protection and enhance everyday durability.

OPPO implements green management practices across the lifecycle of its products.

Virtuous Innovation Simplifies Daily Lives BOLD

OPPO maintains technology and innovation as a strategic priority, with a global portfolio of over 113,000 patent applications, with 91% of them being invention patents. Driven by its brand mission "Technology for Mankind, Kindness for the World", OPPO is committed to making technology accessible to everyone. OPPO has also introduced AI functions across its entire smartphone product line, bringing over 100 AI features to 50 million users worldwide. Through its commitment to inclusive innovation, OPPO has developed accessibility features including real-time speech-to-text conversion, content magnification, and adaptive color correction, empowering users with hearing or visual impairments to fully engage with digital technology.

Health is another area where OPPO is leveraging its extensive resources and innovation to create more user-centric products and experiences. OPPO smartwatches integrate the proprietary “Health Insights” feature, which uses sensor data and AI algorithms to monitor vital signs like heart rate, blood pressure, blood oxygen saturation, and sleep in real time. Combined with temperature change analysis, sleep quality analysis, and other features, the OPPO smartwatches provide users with personalized health risk evaluation and suggestions. Notably, OPPO’s AI-powered blood pressure classification algorithm enables continuous, unobtrusive hypertension risk assessment – particularly for young/middle-aged essential hypertension cases. This constitutes the world’s largest real-world study on unobtrusive blood pressure risk prediction.

Engaging with Local Communities as Corporate Citizen BOLD

In 2024, OPPO donated more than 450 million RMB to social and public welfare organizations, implementing a range of initiatives in areas such as environment, culture, sports and education that help to build more sustainable communities.

In collaboration with Discovery Channel, OPPO has launched the Culture in a Shot Initiative since 2024, which aims to showcase the cultural diversity through imaging technology. With its theme "Portraits of Legacy" in 2024 and “Celebrate the Moment” in 2025, the initiative spotlights inheritors of intangible cultural heritage, and stories of festivals as well as celebrations across 15 countries. In 2024, OPPO also partnered with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to donate 1,000 OPPO tablets, supporting youth education and cultural development in Africa and Asia.

Through its partnership with Discovery Channel, OPPO is celebrating unique cultural diversity around the world

As the Official Smartphone Product Partner of the UEFA Champions League, OPPO has been investing in the development of football culture both on and off the pitch. Through programs like local pitch renovations, equipment donations, and professional training courses, OPPO is providing the support and resources for young footballers from countries including Brazil, Egypt, and Mexico to pursue their football dreams and reach their potential.

Guided by its vision of becoming a sustainable company that contributes to a better world, OPPO will continue to advance sustainable development through technological innovation, creating a resilient technological ecosystem with global partners. Spoil Dad This Father's Day: The Best Gifts at SM Center Sangandaan

Let’s be real—Father’s Day gift shopping can feel like solving a riddle wrapped in an enigma and tied with a slightly askew necktie. How do you say “thank you” to the man who taught you how to ride a bike, fix a faucet, and (let’s admit it) kill a cockroach with ninja-like precision?

This year, SM Center Sangandaan makes it easier—and a lot more fun—with a lineup of thoughtful, useful, and straight-up cool gift ideas that’ll make Dad smile like it’s his birthday and Christmas rolled into one. Whether your dad is the sentimental type, the sporty one, or the low-key tech whiz, here’s a handy guide to great gifts you can grab under one roof:

A Gift of Memories. For the dad who’s always ready to say, “Let’s take a picture,” even when you’re mid-bite—Photoline has just the thing. Grab the Insta360 Ace Pro 2 for your gadget-loving dad who enjoys capturing action-packed adventures, or surprise him with the Instax Mini 41 if he's into instant keepsakes. Either way, you’re gifting him memories that last way beyond a filter.

A Gift of Time.  Because even the busiest dads always find time for family, give him something that honors his timeless love: a classic or trendy new piece from Unisilver. It’s more than a watch—it’s a reminder that every minute spent with him is golden.

A Gift of Fashion and Fitness. Is your dad still doing jumping jacks in the living room while watching reruns of 80s and 90s action films? Fuel his fitness routine and style game with workout-ready gear from Penshoppe—think rubber shoes, dri-fit shirts, and comfy shorts that say, “Yes, I still got it.”

A Gift of Scent-sibility. Either a new scent or his signature scent will add zest to his special day. Check out scents at Bench. Sometimes, all it takes is the right scent to bring back good memories or turn heads at the next family gathering. Head to Bench and find the perfect fragrance—whether it’s his all-time favorite or a fresh new signature.

A Gift of Cool. For the dad who appreciates good sound (and possibly has a secret playlist of 80s rock), the Doquas headphones are a game-changer. These babies pack 52 hours of battery life, crystal-clear audio, plush comfort, and a built-in mic for those WFH calls or jamming to his favorite tracks. Bonus: He can finally stop borrowing yours.

Whatever kind of dad you’ve got—techie, sporty, sentimental, or all of the above—there’s something at SM Center Sangandaan that’ll make him feel like the MVP he is. Swing by, browse around, and pick out something great (or maybe a few great somethings). After all, a little gift goes a long way when it comes from the heart—and from SM.

Stay updated on the latest Father’s Day deals and happenings by following SM Center Sangandaan on Facebook. Because when it comes to showing up for Dad, this mall knows how to deliver.

Celebrate Father's Day with Timeless Tunes: Join the One Stop Record Fair at Ayala Malls Trinoma

This coming Father’s Day, gear up for the ultimate vinyl experience at the One Stop Record Fair happening at Ayala Malls Trinoma Activity Center from June 14 to 15.

The quarterly vinyl record fair promises to take everyone on a nostalgic journey and be reconnected through timeless tunes that have soundtracked generations.

From classic rock anthems to beloved OPM hits, jazz and soul, the event will bring a vast collection of rare, vintage and new vinyl records that will delight dads and music enthusiasts alike.

Last March, Ayala Malls Trinoma housed the One Stop Record Fair: Vinyl in Motion for two days, right at the heart of Quezon City, which drew in patrons, curious mall-goers and the younger generation.

Due to public demand, the One Stop Record Fair: Vinyl in Motion Dad’s Day edition will come back to Ayala Malls Trinoma for something bigger and better.

The staple all-day old-school music spun by Manila’s veteran DJs, the intimate and nostalgic atmosphere and a great selection of vinyl records were maintained but more upgrades set it apart from prior fairs.

Over 20 vinyl vendors were present, but beyond music, there were also CDs, cassette tapes, band shirts and other vintage items, such as coins and bills, and collectibles sold at the event.

Trinoma also added its own spin to the event, by offering free freshly made mocktails from TGI Fridays and beautifully curated flower bouquet from Smitten. Customers just need to present a minimum single receipt worth P500 from any Trinoma merchant.

“The energy at our last One Stop Record Fair at Ayala Malls Trinoma was electric!” Sari Osorio, organizer of the One Stop Record Fair, said.

“As we gear up for our upcoming Father's Day event, we are thrilled to see the community so excited about records, art, collectibles and of course, the vinyl community. Let's make this Father's Day one to remember!” she added.

Run Against Cervical Cancer Draws 1,000 Strong: A Powerful Call for Prevention and Awareness

Making Strides Against Cervical Cancer | Runners set off at the 5KM gun start of the Run Against Cervical Cancer, marking Cervical Cancer Awareness Month and rallying support for prevention and early detection efforts. Photo by Andrea G. Zubiri Assisted by: Janna Victoria Gamil

On May 25, 2025, over 1,000 participants gathered at Parqal Mall in ASEANA City, ParaƱaque, for the Run Against Cervical Cancer (RACC). This event marked the start of Cervical Cancer Awareness Month and aimed to raise awareness about prevention and early detection.

Organized by MSD Philippines and the Pharmaceutical & Healthcare Association of the Philippines (PHAP), the run featured 3km and 5km routes. Runners included families, cancer survivors, healthcare professionals, and advocates, all united by a common cause.

Personal Stories of Strength

Among the participants was Lorely Magalona, who dedicated her run to her mother, a cervical cancer victim. Lorely, now 40, runs 10km daily and has completed an 80km ultramarathon. She shared:

“You benefit from exercise in more ways than one. We all want to live longer and healthier lives.”

Senior athletes like 78-year-old Rosalinda Ogsimer and 67-year-old Patricio Punzalan also joined, showing that age is no barrier to fitness or advocacy.

The Importance of Prevention

Cervical cancer remains a leading cause of death among Filipino women, with 7,897 new cases and 4,052 deaths annually. The primary cause is persistent infection with the human papillomavirus (HPV). Vaccination against HPV, especially among girls aged 9 to 14, significantly reduces the risk of developing cervical cancer later in life. However, vaccination coverage in the country remains low, hindered by misinformation, limited access, and lack of awareness.

The RACC event highlighted the World Health Organization’s 90-70-90 goals for eliminating cervical cancer by 2030:

  • 90% of girls fully vaccinated against HPV by age 15
  • 70% of women screened with high-performance tests by 35 and again by 45

  • 90% of women diagnosed with cervical disease receive timely treatment

Voices for Change

Advocates like content creator Charm de Leon and media personality Andi Manzano emphasized the importance of vaccination and early screening. Charm de Leon encouraged women to take charge of their health:

“If you’re waiting for a sign, this is it. Get screened, research the HPV vaccine, and follow credible voices in health.”

Advocates and representatives from public and private organizations participate in a commitment exercise during the Run Against Cervical Cancer, uniting efforts to help eliminate cervical cancer through prevention, awareness, and early detection. Photo by Andrea G. Zubiri Assisted by: Janna Victoria Gamil

Former national football player and coach Belay Fernando-Dela Cruz, a Stage 3B cervical cancer survivor, likened the run to her cancer journey:

“Sometimes you’re running alone, sometimes with others. But what matters is showing up and staying the course.”

Community Support and Advocacy

Quezon City District 1 Councilor Charm Ferrer, a Stage 3C cervical cancer survivor, shared her own advocacy after undergoing 36 rounds of radiation, 4 brachytherapy sessions, and 6 chemotherapy treatments. She called on other local government units to replicate Quezon City’s Comprehensive Cervical Cancer Elimination Ordinance, which expands access to HPV vaccines and screening services.

MSD Philippines President and Managing Director Andreas Riedel closed the event with a powerful reminder:

“Cervical cancer is preventable. The solutions are here—vaccination, screening, and treatment. What we need now is action.

Take Action Today

Cervical cancer is preventable. Vaccination and regular screening are key to protection. Join the movement. Together, we can eliminate cervical cancer.

Grab Strengthens Women Empowerment Drive with Misiskolar 2025

Mom driver-partners and wives of Grab and MOVE IT driver-partners came together for a half-day of learning and self-care, joining workshops and pampering sessions as part of the Misiskolar event

As part of its broader mission to uplift women, Grab Philippines concluded its month-long Misiskolar: Siskarte ni Kumare campaign — an empowerment initiative designed to equip the wives of driver-partners and female driver-partners with entrepreneurial skills and tools to thrive in today’s digital-first economy.

Held at SMX Convention Center Aura, the culminating event gathered women from the Grab and MOVE IT community for a day of capacity-building and community celebration. Misiskolar featured a robust lineup of expert-led sessions designed to help homemakers transform passion projects into sustainable sources of income. Participants also gained access to free registration for TESDA-accredited skills training, equipping them with nationally recognized credentials to pursue broader entrepreneurial or livelihood opportunities.

The program was headlined by actress and advocate Jolina Magdangal, a long-time champion of homemakers and working mothers, who led the “Diskarte Talks” — a candid and educational dialogue on motherhood, marriage, and business grit. The event served to underscore the often-overlooked economic role of homemakers, many of whom are now emerging as mompreneurs and contributors to household income.

As part of the month-long MISISKOLAR campaign and in celebration of Mother’s Day 2025, actress and wellness advocate Maxene Magalona led a special yoga and meditation session for mom driver-partners from Grab and MOVE IT.

In the lead-up to the main event, Grab also partnered with actress and wellness advocate Maxene Magalona to hold a special yoga and meditation session with female driver-partners. The session centered on self-love, mental wellness, and the importance of self-care — underscoring the platform’s commitment to holistic empowerment.

Grab Philippines Country Head Ronald Roda shares, “Behind every ride and every delivery is often a woman holding the family together, not just as a homemaker but as a dreamer, a doer, and a quiet force of resilience. Through Misiskolar, we honor the grit of our female driver-partners and the wives who support them, as well as the small but powerful revolutions taking place inside Filipino homes. These women are redefining what it means to contribute to the economy in a digital world. At Grab, we are proud to be a platform where their diskarte becomes dignity, income, and impact.”

The Misiskolar program is a long-running women empowerment initiative by Grab Philippines, dedicated to helping homemakers nurture additional income streams for their families. One testament to its impact is entrepreneur Erlita Lebosada, who launched YLE’S CAR & HOME ESSENTIALS — a business inspired by her firsthand experience as a GrabCar driver-partner and proud driver-mom.

Basta may tamang diskarte, huwag matakot magsimula. Kayang-kaya nating maging negosyante.”

Rainy Season Ready? Grab These Essentials at SM Center Sangandaan!

Goodbye, summer sun. Hello, moody Manila skies!

June marks the start of the rainy season in the Philippines—but if you’ve been outside lately, you know it’s not just about the rain. One minute it’s blazing hot, the next it’s a full-on downpour. The unpredictability of Manila weather can turn any commute into a challenge if you’re not prepared.

Whether you're braving the MRT or hopping on a jeepney, here are five commuter-friendly essentials you should always keep in your bag to stay ready for whatever the skies bring.

1. Bench Umbrella – The Stylish Shield

Who says umbrellas can’t be fashionable? Bench’s take on the everyday essential, brings together sleek design and solid functionality. Its compact size makes it easy to stash in your tote or backpack, and its stylish finish makes it more than just rain protection—it’s a wardrobe extension. No more awkward umbrella moments, just effortless coverage when the skies turn.

2. Miniso Handheld Fan – For Heat in Transit

Just because it’s raining doesn’t mean it’s cool. In fact, humidity tends to spike right after a downpour. Enter: the Miniso portable fan. Rechargeable and lightweight, it fits in your hand or pouch and offers a much-needed breeze while you’re stuck in line or in transit.

3. Bench Lightweight Jacket – Foldable Fashion with a Purpose

This one’s a commuter lifesaver. Bench’s water-repellent and UV-blocking jacket is perfect for hot-and-humid mornings that quickly become wet-and-windy afternoons. Bonus: It folds into a pouch, making it ultra-packable and perfect for unpredictable days.

4. Dermaction Plus by Watsons Advanced Sun Water Drop Cream Gel SPF 50 – Sun Care, Rain or Shine

Yes, you still need sunscreen even when it’s cloudy. UV rays don’t take a break, and neither should your skin protection. This one’s a favorite among commuters for good reason: it’s lightweight, non-sticky, and absorbs quickly—no white cast, just fresh, protected skin all day.

5. Miniso Power Bank – Stay Connected Anytime

Running out of juice mid-commute is the modern nightmare. Keep a reliable power bank handy, like this pocket-sized one from Miniso. It’s got dual charging ports, is lightweight, and fits snugly in any pouch. Because when the rain starts pouring, you’ll want to stay online and on track.

The Travel Club, the country’s premier travel lifestyle store, has officially launched its first-ever industry partnership program in collaboration with The Henry Hotels and Resorts and with the support of the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB). Held at The Travel Club+ in Shangri-La Plaza, the launch event gathered tourism leaders and brand partners in a shared commitment to empower travelers to discover the beauty of the Philippines—one city, one story at a time.

“We’ve always believed travel should be purposeful,” said Jimmy Thai, CEO of Primer Group of Companies. “This partnership helps us connect our community to the heart and soul of the Philippines—its people, places, and stories.”

The collaboration gives travelers exclusive access to The Henry’s boutique hotels, coupled with curated perks and promos available at The Travel Club+ stores. With the Department of Tourism’s #LoveThePhilippines campaign as a backdrop, this initiative inspires Filipinos to embrace local travel in meaningful ways.

"What happens when three partners with a shared love for the Philippines come together?” said Hanky Lee, Innkeeper of The Henry Hotels & Resorts. “TPB promotes the country as a world-class destination; The Henry celebrates its beauty through boutique stays; and The Travel Club+ brings it all together through meaningful experiences. This collaboration sparks wanderlust and encourages us to rediscover the Philippines—one city, one destination at a time.” Adding to this, Marga Nograles, COO of the Tourism Promotions Board, shared, “The world is traveling and looking for more meaningful and purposeful experiences. At TPB, we take that to heart—which is why we seek partners who understand and share this sentiment.”

Echoing these values, Jimmy Thai, CEO of Primer Group of Companies, shared, “This gathering affirms our long-standing mission to promote the Philippines as a world-class destination. For 35 years, Primer and The Travel Club have built a community of travelers who seek purpose, not just places. Through partnerships like this with The Henry Hotels and TPB, we spotlight local gems and support meaningful, eco-conscious travel. I’ve seen much of the world, but I’ll always choose the Philippines—especially the countryside, where our people’s beauty, warmth, and authenticity truly shine.

As part of the experience, guests were invited to indulge in tasting stations from Apartment1B, a curated wine tasting by Woomera Wines, a proudly local brand known for its expressive blends and passion for elevating the Filipino wine experience, personalized keepsakes, and explore curated corners. These small but intentional gestures served as an introduction to the program’s central theme: travel is not just a destination, it is a deeply personal experience.

This collaboration is made possible through the support of the Tourism Promotions Board Philippines, the Department of Tourism, and valued brand partners including Delsey, TUMI, Hydro Flask, Allbirds, World Traveller, Columbia, Traveler’s Choice, Kermit Siargao, Messy Bessy, Henry and Sons and more — all of whom share the mission to make every Filipino journey more seamless and meaningful.

As The Travel Club continues to expand its portfolio of partnerships, it reinforces its role not just as a retailer, but as a true travel companion.  Because when you travel with The Travel Club, it’s never just about where you’re going—it’s also about how you get there. And with the right partners by your side, you’ll always #KnowBeforeYouGo.

Special Promo Offer

As part of the celebration, travelers can book a stay and win. Customers who shop at any The Travel Club+ store from April 15 to June 30, 2025, will receive a discount code for The Henry Hotels. Every successful booking qualifies for a raffle entry to win a 3-day, 2-night luxury escape.

Use Google Maps and Waze to navigate your way through local shops and restaurants, ticking off those must-try dishes.

Live out your playlist: Immerse yourself in your favorite artists' music by attending music festivals! Converge teaches basic online protection to disenfranchised mothers, children

Converge lent a helping hand to the marginalized community being nurtured by the Clark Development Corporation (CDC), as the company recently taught practical skills to the group to protect themselves online coupled with a livelihood training program.

On May 22, 2025 Converge traveled to Bamban, Tarlac to teach 30 mothers and their children - all beneficiaries of the CDC’s Pagsasarili Program - about cyber protection and provide them with opportunities to earn additional income via the Converge prepaid fiber internet, Surf2Sawa. “Ang programa natin ngayon araw ay para sa mga nanay bilang May pa rin - Mother’s Day month - na gusto naming turuan paano protektahan sarili nila online lalo na’t laganap ang scams via text at internet,” said Jennifer Ambanta-Realubit, Converge Community Relations Manager.

Armin Rivera, Capacity Building Officer II of the Clark Development Corporation, elaborated that because of their socioeconomic status, these marginalized mothers can be particularly crippled by scams proliferated by insidious individuals. “Scams are rampant nowadays through text or emails. Ang target ng mga scams na ‘to include even the poor. The poor are especially vulnerable to them because of their desire to earn more to sustain their families. We are grateful to Converge for helping these nanays na mabuksan ang kamalayan to these scams and just say no to dubious offers of cash or opportunities rampant online,” said Rivera.

Scam Watch Pilipinas Co-Founder and Co-Lead Convenor Jocel de Guzman taught the Pagsasarili beneficiaries of the dangers of phishing scams amid the proliferation of e-wallets and digitized transactions. He enumerated several type of scams such as job scams, investment scams, loan scams, and love scams. Moreover, he advised the mothers to always doubt and double check the veracity of the person they're engaging with online. Especially when money or personal information is involved.

For the livelihood training, Jericho Mamangun of Converge MSP JK2L2 taught mothers to supplement their household income via the selling of Converge fiber prepaid, should they wish to do so.

Converge and CDC have been long-time partners, with Converge regularly conducting programs not just about cyber protection but even for community health and dental missions. As a key enabler of digitalization, Converge also supports the online education of the children of the Aeta community through the provision of connectivity and learning tablets.

Converge Appoints New COO, Reinforces Executive Team for Future-Ready Growth

2025 Annual Stockholders’ Meeting

Leading Philippine broadband and technology services provider Converge ICT Solutions Inc. announced key movements within its leadership team as it charts a future-forward direction focusing on long-term resilience and sustainable growth.

During the Board of Directors Organizational Meeting held on May 30, 2025 after the Annual Stockholders’ Meeting, Jesus “Boboy” C. Romero signified his desire to retire from the  Company as Chief Operations Officer after nine fruitful years of service. The Board of Directors unanimously approved Boboy’s retirement effective end of business day of June 30, 2025.

Converge CEO and Co-Founder Dennis Anthony Uy thanked Romero for his invaluable contributions to Converge, particularly his role in successfully translating the tremendous demand for fiber broadband faced by the company at the height of the pandemic into tangible gains.

“Boboy has seen us through the bold entry of Converge in the broadband market, to the hypergrowth years during the pandemic, and we are truly grateful. And now as we leap into the future, we look forward to continuing having Boboy as a supportive business partner,” Uy added.

The Board then appointed Benjamin Rex Emilio B. Azada as the new Chief Operations Officer effective July 1, 2025, to handle the reins of the overall operations of Converge.

2025 Annual Stockholders’ Meeting

“Converge is entering an exciting new era that will be defined by dynamic changes and innovations. We’ve made strategic adjustments to our management as we evolve into a technology company. We need this kind of focus for us to leap into the future with beyond-connectivity services and innovative solutions that leverage pivotal technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), internet of things (IoT), and cloud computing,” said Converge CEO and Co-Founder Dennis Anthony Uy.

“In line with this, we’re proud to put Benj, a trusted and seasoned executive whose talents have spanned the areas of Strategy, Sustainability, and Product Development, Sales and Marketing, to lead overall company operations,” said Converge CEO and Co-Founder Dennis Anthony Uy.

Azada finished his BS Industrial Engineering degree at the University of the Philippines, and earned his Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration (with Merit) from the University of Durham, in England. Prior to joining Converge, Azada was the Consulting Managing Principal and a Management Board member of PwC Philippines, and also a Partner of PwC’s South East Asia Consulting Practice.

After serving as Converge Chief Strategy Officer for almost four years, Azada was appointed Chief Commercial Officer early in 2024 and helped steer Converge to sustained growth with total revenues jumping almost 15% in 2024 compared to its year-ago level as the residential subscriber base increased by 20% to more than 2.5 million at the end of that year and now reaching over 2.7 million customers. Azada will relinquish commercial operations to capable hands directly supporting the company’s sales and marketing strategies, ensuring sustained business growth.

Azada, who was also Chief Sustainability Officer, will hand over his sustainability portfolio to Converge Corporate Compliance Officer Laurice Esteban-Tuason who was named as Corporate Sustainability Officer, concurrent with her position as Converge Corporate Compliance and Data Protection Officer.

Atty. Esteban-Tuason was recently lauded as the Best Data Privacy Officer (in the sector of General Management and Services) by the Philippines’ leading professional information security organization, the Information Security Officers Group (ISOG). She also recently completed her Master’s in Cybersecurity, With High Distinction, at the Asian Institute of Management.

Meanwhile, Converge Treasurer, Christine Renee Blabagno, has been appointed concurrently as Chief Risk Officer to focus on strategic risk management of Converge, especially with the changing business and social climate in the Philippines and the evolving broadband landscape. Christine Blabagno brings over 25 years of financial management to Converge, having been a financial leader and strategist for over 14 years at a telco company in various leadership positions, the last being Vice President of Consolidated Core Business Controllership. She is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Management Accountant with a professional diploma in Enterprise Risk Planning & Management from the National University of Singapore.

“With these changes in our leadership team, we are entering a new chapter—one that positions us more strategically for greater growth. By revamping the leadership bench while reinforcing our core values, we’re building the momentum needed to seize new opportunities and navigate the future as we transition to a techco,” said Converge President and Co-Founder Maria Grace Uy.
