Sunrise Trail Hike at Masungi Georeserve: An Empowering and Meaningful Birthday Celebration

Image
Since I was a child, as soon as June approaches, I feel thrilled because it's my birth month. I don't eagerly anticipate gifts, but rather the greetings from family and friends. It brings me joy. I am easily pleased. It doesn't take much to make me happy. Whenever I am asked what I want for my birthday, my usual response is "nothing" or "I don't know; I can't think of anything I want or need." I am not materialistic. I am happy. I am healthy. I am blessed with family and true friends. Feeling ko nasa akin na ang lahat and I prefer inner peace. Fancy that! Haha. I find more joy in giving, whether to family, friends, or even strangers. But this time, I said, "Lord, can I give myself a gift this time?" Since a retreat in Batulao is not possible yet, I scheduled a day for myself for a pampering session at the mall. I want to have a massage, facial, manicure/pedicure. I simply wish to unwind and disconnect from the online world for an entire...

Shopee Joins DTI-Led ASEAN Online Sale Day To Showcase Filipino Brands Across The Region

In partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry, Shopee Philippines takes part in the 2026 ASEAN Online Sale Day running from August 8 to 10, featuring more than 50 local Filipino brands. This year’s edition carries the theme “A Click to Prosperity”. The annual initiative unites Southeast Asian nations and major e-commerce platforms to open new opportunities for micro, small, and medium enterprises, and strengthen digital commerce as a core driver of regional economic integration.

Shopee has curated a dedicated ASEAN Online Sale Day collection that highlights the quality and diversity of Filipino products across key categories. Featured names include home and electronics brand Hanabishi, lifestyle label Bash Manila, consumer goods from Del Monte, Unilove, and Issy, and fashion favorite Bench.

Shoppers can avail of exclusive ASEAN Online Sale Day vouchers on top of existing discounts for a limited time. This encourages more people to discover and buy from local businesses turning every purchase into meaningful support for homegrown enterprises.

“Now in our fourth year of participation, ASEAN Online Sale Day shows how regional cooperation creates real opportunities right here at home,” said Vincent Lee, Head of Shopee Philippines. “We aim to help local businesses reach wider audiences by boosting brand visibility and making it simple for shoppers to discover and support them.”

This initiative is part of Shopee’s support for the Philippines’ ASEAN Chairmanship this year. Earlier, the platform joined the DTI’s ASEAN Connectivity Event where it presented the Shopee International Platform alongside government and industry discussions on regional digital cooperation and cross-border trade. Shopee will also take part in another ASEAN gathering this September as work to build a stronger regional digital economy continues.

ASEAN Online Sale Day brings together leading e-commerce platforms across Southeast Asia to drive cross-border commerce through promotions, skills development, and closer industry collaboration. Through its participation, Shopee reinforces its commitment to programs that expand market access for local sellers while advancing ASEAN’s vision of a more connected inclusive and digitally empowered economy.

“Our involvement goes beyond taking part in a regional campaign,” Lee added. “Supporting efforts like this reflects our long term goal to create tangible opportunities for local MSMEs to grow gain exposure and connect with more customers.”
