Since I was a child, as soon as June approaches, I feel thrilled because it's my birth month. I don't eagerly anticipate gifts, but rather the greetings from family and friends. It brings me joy. I am easily pleased. It doesn't take much to make me happy. Whenever I am asked what I want for my birthday, my usual response is "nothing" or "I don't know; I can't think of anything I want or need." I am not materialistic. I am happy. I am healthy. I can still remember how much of a street kid I was. The only gadgets then were game & watch, Nintendo, and tetris- not that interested. I would rather go out after my siesta and play outside with my friends. As a girl Im not into tea parties and stuff like that, I'm more interested in extreme games (luksong baka, luksong tinik, patintero, tumbang preso, chinese garter, agawang-bahay, etc...) lol š imagine how sweaty and smelly I was š It's so gross and it drives my mom crazy. I will take a bath naman when I get home.
In this day and age our little ones would rather play with their gadgets than play out doors. Poor kiddos, you are missing a lot of fun. Fun under the sun! I must admit my kids and I are always inside our home. Since I want to finish other house chores, I have no choice but to let them kids have screen time (both gadget and television).
I'm happy that Princess Y and I were invited to an afternoon full of learning and fun by Tupperware Brands Philippines. They also invited the Gymboree Team to facilitate play time with the kids, while us moms listen to the speakers.
Play allows children to use their creativity while developing their imagination, dexterity, and physical, cognitive, and emotional strength. Play is important to healthy brain development. It is through play that children at a very early age engage and interact in the world around them.
