#KickstartWithLicealiz Learning Experience Workshop at the Mind Museum

School is in. Parents are again challenged on how to ensure children maintain good hair hygiene despite spending most of their time with classmates and friends.

Did you know that pediculosis or lice infestation is the second cause of absenteeism in public schools in the Philippines? First is tooth decay.

Lice is icky, but it's not dangerous,It's not infectious, they are not a sign of poor hygiene, and it's fairly easy to treat.

Head lice infestation, or pediculosis, occurs through close person-to-person contact with someone who already has the parasitic insect living close to their scalps. Most often they are spread through direct head-to-head contact but infrequently, they may be spread by contact with clothing - including hats and scarves -- or other personal items like combs, brushes, or towels.

Although lice don’t spread disease the way cockroaches and rodents do, these wingless insects do feed on a person’s blood. Having that lice saliva on your scalp and skin causes itchiness that is very irritating throughout the day and keeps you awake at night. Which affect children's  sleeping time that tends to affect their waking hours in the morning and performance in school.

Lamoiyan Corporation's Licealiz recently held #KickstartwithLicealiz Learning Experience workshop at The Mind Museum . Through this learning session, #PrincessY and I together with other mommy bloggers and their daughters were given a fun bonding experience at the same time gave us tips on how to keep those tresses flawless.

@bambikitty (IG) taught us different haistyles for our daughters

Our winning hairstyle 😍

For school girls, fashionable hairstyles are the definite hype which is why there was a hairstyle tutorial that instructed mommies how to style preppy, easy-to-do hairstyles that their kids can pull off at school.

There was also a lecture on basic hair care,  including ways on preventing head lice infestation, to teach us moms on how to prepare well for the school season, especially in ensuring that our child's health remains uncompromised by threats such as pediculosis or kuto.

Aside from the sumptuous food served we were also treated to an educational tour at The Mind Museum to provide our children with the opportunity to satisfy their thirst for learning.
